First off, Hell of a game Texans....You actually looked like you wanted it more than the titans. Loved the game.

1. Amobi Okoye looked like he belonged in the NFL. He stepped up big today and hopefully he plays like this the rest of the way and into the future.

2. I hate to say this: Eric Winston looked like he was a **** rookie out there against 50 year old Kearse(I know kearse still has skills) but Winston is supposed to be our anchor on the right side and he got schaub killed many times today.

Go Texans!!

I agree with point #2 as far as pass protection goes, but in the running game he showed up. On the final first down for Steve Slaton, his block took out 3 different potential tacklers. Other than that note, I agree with your post.

Yea, look I love Winston, i voted a million times for him to go to the pro bowl. I hope he was just tired today and he will be back to his old self next week.

1. 207 yards
2. 100 yards
3. 13-12

okay, well that's 3. But I agree with both posts above.

It was pretty obvious that Winston couldn't handle the speed rush. Most RT's don't get the speed guys, they get the power guys to work against. Unless he can do better with practice and familiarity, that should pretty much put the idea of Eric at LT to rest.

Yeah, Okoye really brought it for this game, I don't know what they are doing differently with the defensive line or if they all just prefer cold weather but everyone is stepping up, which is great. Although it brings back the fear that Richard Smith will come back next year and revert to form, but two more games of the defensive pressure, and we have a winning season.

Winston was dominated early one, kind of surprising, but I think eventually got a handle on Kearse and his help in the Several Slaton runs are much appreciated.

Oh well, its the first time he gets schooled like this in all the season. He is allowed one game.

As far the improvment from Okoye, two things I saw-pad level was low and robinson was dominating his man. Does any one else think that the less playing time TJ gets the better Okoye will be. Have we found our DTs of the future?

There are several things I generally haven't liked about how TJ and Okoye have been used. Yes, it would solve 95% of that if they never saw the field at the same time. They don't work well together, or at least that's one way of saying it.

Let's give Winston credit for pushing the pile and helping Slaton run out the clock. On one play he was towards the front and was pulling the pile forward with both arms. Don't know if it's legal but it sure worked!

If the refs didn't throw the flag, its legal. :D

I was wondering the same thing myself. I saw one play where Winston was dragging Slaton. Slaton's feet wern't even moving. Probably the same play you are refering to.

But seriously, what would the referee throw the flag on? I can just see him standing in the middle of the field, "Illegal hugging, 5 yard penalty, repeat first down."

LOL, that would be hilarious to hear in a football game.

I know everyone will think I'm crazy but Winston had a very good game. He did just what he was supposr to do with the deep speed rush and that was take it deep. The problem was that Shaub wasn't stepping up into the pocket. When you have a deep speed rush you take a 3-4 step drop and step up, Shaub was taking 4-5 steps and not stepping up. The result was that he ended up right where they were taking the DE. Most of that is lack of playing time on Shaub's part but very correctible
Some sacks are created by the man they are protecing if he doesn't work with them!

Yea, what he said.

Yes, Winston got beat some on pass protection but as another poster pointed out- He has played well overall and he assisted with both 100+ yard games against the Titans-An NFL best.

I'm not saying he's a world beater but he's good and I would re-sign him.

Actually it's called "Aiding the runner", I think. I'm pretty sure but I don't think the lineman can physically pull the runner forward or push him from behind, but he can push the people around the runner. I'm not 100% but I'm pretty sure...but like someone said earlier, "No flag, No penalty!!"

...But yes that would be funny!!
