With johnson hurt. Slaton could go to pro bowl. I think he is one of the alternates. Not that i like to see some one get hurt but Slaton does earn the right to go i think.

He is an alternate, but according to the information I received on the day of the Pro Bowl announcements, Slaton is a second alternate. Don't know who the first alternate is. I'll check on this tomorrow, though.

I think (could be wrong) LT might have been the first alternate. If that is the case then LT will probobly not be able to play either.

The Pro Bowl system is worse than the BCS...
The Pro Bowl system is worse than the BCS...
worthless?
If so I agree.

Exactly. Slaton by far had a better season stat wise.

Considering Slaton had a better year than Chris Johnson... I would expect him to be in even if he appears as an alternate. The only thing I see in his way is that he was a rookie. I think Chris Johnson made it past the rookie bias simply because his team played at a high level all season.
I also agree that the system is totally unfair. Probowl positions should be selected base don number rankings only because you can rank numbers and you cannot rank peoples opinions.

What is a better accolade for players, making the Pro Bowl or being named an All Pro?
I dont' understand how Mario can make the Pro Bowl and not the All Pro team.

Mario's numbers were not the best thiss eason, but when combined with his snub last season it was enough to get him in. I think we will see Mario as an ALL-PRO next season when we fix up the D-Line a bit and add a new line coach.

All Pro is the higher accolade.

Don't players/fans(ratio?) vote for Pro Bowl and writers vote for All Pro team?

I'm pretty sure that no matter what alternate you are at a position the coaching staff picks wich alternate is added to the active roster.

I honestly am not sure I want him to go.
Its an honor, but it is also a needless game where he could be injured.

Has a player ever been injured at the Pro-Bowl? I only ask because I had never heard of that happening.
The good thing that comes from Slaton going is that it is a National game with 3 of our players in it. It is good press for our organization and if Slaton runs all over like AP did last season, then Slaton will come into next season as a known player rather than someone who constantly gets snubbed for the work he is doing.

haha did u forget about Jerome Mathis? Best KO returner in the league and he got injured in the pro bowl that eventually led to his release..

All Pro is the higher accolade.
All-Pro has to be higher being this is AJ's first one. He has already been to like 3 or 4 probowls.

I am rpetty sure he got released for beating up his girlfriend. His constant injuries up to that point sealed the deal for him. I think he was floating on thin ice after he got roughed up on that return down the sideline last year and the girlfriend issues in the media cost him his job.

Please just leave Slaton out. I would prefer he not take a chance.. besided he is like the 2nd backup. We already know what Slaton can do and he does not need to proove anythign to "anyone" but the Texans organization and fans.. through that will come what he deserves.. Save those legs for next season and start putting up those college numbers here in the NFL.
Lets Go Slaton.

"Here's where I blew it. Buffalo's Marshawn Lynch is the first alternate, not Tomlinson. Even though Lynch missed the Bills' last game because he was hurt, I'm told he's healthy now. Nothing's official, however, until the NFL confirms it. "

Lame.
Maybe Slaton declined.

actually I think that the reason Lynch was selected to go is because he was the 1st alternate. Slaton is a 2nd alternate so Lynch would have to had pass or one of the other AFC RB's would need to pull out of the game for Slaton to go.

As much as I would like Slaton recognized for his production this season, I'm glad that he doesn't have the extra opportunity to get injured this year. Besides, maybe he could use the snub as an incentive to be even better next year.
