Hey, if Kubiak fell in the forest and nobody was around, would he still make a sound?
Sorry, I just figured if we were asking strange obscure questions, I'd add my two cents.
I shouldnt of had coke in my mouth when I opened this thread. I almost spit it all over the computer. Some of yall are a trip. This thread is pointless.:(

no ya'll are useless fans to interact with. There won't be anything new to report on the Texans for another couple of months now that all the fired coaches are replaced. Nothing to talk about Texans related. I simply asked a hypothetical question to see who the most qualified coach to be a head coach is on our team. Seriously. Get a life people you take this message board too seriously. For me it's just a place to talk Texans football. Most real life people laugh at the Texans and still think they are the worst team in the NFL. At least the people I come across at work or school so it's the only place to have a conversation about this team without defending them every sentence. But ya'll care too much about a thread with a "point." I have news for you people. Football is just a game. A message board is a place to talk about the Texans. If anyone here seriously takes a message board abut a football team as an important part of your life to the point you are annoyed at a question posted that you have no interest in knowing the answer to, then I seriously feel sorry for your life. If you don't like the question, MOVE ON TO THE NEXT THREAD. Man I've wanted to say that so many times everytime I come on here to look for news but instead find a bunch of nerds arguing about stupid stuff like "this has been posted already" or the classic "useless thread" and then making shots at the person. Seriously. Grow up.

You need to learn to ask the question better. You should ask, who is the most qualified person on the staff to become a head coach? Say you walk up to Travis Johnson and ask him, why are you such an %$^#&#%? You're not going to get the best response. Instead you ask him, you've said some controversial things in the past. What causes you to do that.
My answer as to who is best qualified, I'd say Shanahan. There seems to be a love to hire 30 something head coaches with potential.

Well why not ask something relevant and not a hypothetical question? At least not a negative one. Kubiak and Smith have done a helluva job since coming over here. Had it not been for a few turnovers and a human helicopter move, chances are we would have made the playoffs, but most definitely would have a had a winning record. The TO's are not the coaches fault, however it is his responsibility to make sure it stops. With that being said I just don't see Kubes going anywhere in the near future.

Wouldn't happen because unless Kubiak was physically unable to do the job McNair wouldn't tank a season with any of the potential candidates for the interiem gig. The only ones possible from the current coaches are Gibbs, Bush and maybe Kollar. But no way McNair does such unless Kubiak is injured or arrested for a very heinous crime.

Thank you for graciously sacrificing your dignity for us to talk about how pointless this thread is.
The fact that you posted again in this thread to defend your point makes this a classic thread that we should continue to bump for years on end like the All Encompassing Carr thread.

The biggest mistake you made was not suggesting that Gary is a genius and a god. By posting such a question you hint at the idea that we might not be getting better, but just spinning our wheels.
Remember that you are not allowed to ask real question about the management and coaching on this team.

Where was our Win/Lose ratio before Kubes and Company?
Where is our Win/Lose ratio after Kubes and Company?
I hope we keep "spinning our wheels" as we burn rubber through the league next season as we turn the corner because what Kubes has been doing to this point is certainly working better than the early days.

Whatever. It is the prevailing view around here that Gary is a genius. Can't have a rational discussion about it, but that is ok.
My knickers are not twisted. I am just laughing at all the delusional fans around here who think that 8-8 is a success. I mean hey it is not like this league is about winning or anything right?

You realize how unpersuasive that argument is? Being better than Capers is not much of an accomplishment. All you can really say is that Gary and Rick are slightly less idiotic than Dom and Charlie. At least Charlie has Mario to his credit. All Rick has is a bust (Amobi) and a guy who was only marginal for most of the season (Brown).

the way the season started, 8-8 is a successful season. a miracle would have been a playoff spot (at least 11-5, probly 12-4 to guarantee it)

I wish that Owen Daniels guy would pick up his game. If Kevin Walter could figure out how to run a route we would be in better shape. If Slaton could figure out how to actually hold onto the ball instead of turning it over everytime he touches it.
We are in a horrible place right now and I have no clue how this new leadership will ever fix these huge holes in our roster.
You do watch the Texans when you turn on your TV on Sunday right Coogbull? You make this team sound like it has no hope.

Well I am the balance to those of you who act like we just barely missed out on the playoffs and are guaranteed a Super Bowl in the near future.
But hey, it is all good. We have the Gary Kubiak circle jerk of coaches running this team and it is presumptious to expect professionals who have been playing a game all their lives to hold on to the football. Heck, I once high fived Gary and now I am in the running for Assistant DB coach.

Sure you are right, the true fans who support this team are the ones who expect nothing from it, the coaching staff, and are just happy that we can get some worthless wins at the end of the season. All the other bad fans like me should feel ashamed for wanting and expecting our team to win.
I am supporting my team. I think we have too much talent to be where we are and I am sick of the excuses. At some point they have to show real results and I think that time should be fast approaching.

Coog, I aint happy about the years of losing, and being that we
lose quite often I got to the point where I watched the games
only to see Andre play, and this year Steve, and all the big plays
that others may make on oiur team
This year, I EXPECT to win though, and I honestly never felt that
sort of pressure I have on them to win. Last year I was hoping we
would go 8-8 this year I expect NO less than 9-7
It's all good that you are a hard critic of our team, but I dont
think you would be here this much if you didnt care a lil. You
dont get paid to come on here. Richard justice gets paid for his blogs
and it so happens he is here and H town and likes to cut our throat when he pleases, cause he is a HATER and dont care if we win or lose

8-8 is a success considering the circumstances that happened,,, toughest opening schedule in NFL add to that playing first three games on the road...first game back colts disaster... the Texans should have been top 3 pic material. Instead....
Texans went on a four game win streak and a three game win streak. ( first time ever) The Texans had the 3rd best offense in the league and if werent for Red zone turnovers would have had the # 1 offense. Mario and Andre had ProBowl years, Duane Brown loks like a solid pic, Steve Slaton was best rookie Rb. Owen Daniels had a career year. Kevin Walter led team in TDs.
I call all of thse things a success, however the second 8-8 season did something more significant to the team... it changed the culture from a loosing team into a team that stands on the verge of something great.
I consider that a success wouldnt you? If not then all 31 teams who do not win the Superbowl are failures right?

Wow, you have a very low standard of success. Under the assumptions of your argument, on a 100 question test, the guy who got 50 right is a success because he tried hard. Would you go to a doctor who only got it right 50% of the time?
I have said many times that there are a lot of things I like about this team. You pointed many of them out. Still, you contention that this team is on the verge of something great is baseless. People thought that this time last year. It proved untrue. I do not have a beef with the talent on this team for the most part. I have just disagree with the coaching decisions.
Sure we put up some sick offensive numbers. That is meaningless because we struggled so much in the red zone. Sure we had a tough schedule. Lots of teams have tough schedules. They overcome. If your argument is that we can not be expected to do anything till we have a powder puff schedule then we had better prepare to never go to the playoffs. The NFL is an ever evolving league. For all we know the NFC West, which everyone is suggesting will be soft, could be a strong division. All you have are excuses.
I don't see any change in the culture on this team yet. I will believe it when I see it.
This team does not need to excuses, it needs to prove itself. I hope beyond hope that it does. I would love to be wrong and everyone else to be right. I dearly love this team. I just think we are being held back by some bad FO decisions.
