Not too surprising but it looks like Jeff Fisher wants Collins back as the starter next year. Tough break for VY.

They've been showing superbowls all weekend on nfl network, and all I can say is that Collins has been a choker forever.
He is perfect for the Titans, choking at all the wrong times.

They are also contemplating re-signing Chris Simms. VY is in a tough spot and so are the Titanics. What do you do with guy who can't play NFL level QB that you gave up a high 1st round pick and a lot of money for and how long do you hold on to the hope he might somehow come around. Took 5 years for the Texans and that was with a guy that was actually playing. Will it take that long for a guy sitting on the bench?

Collins can play in this league but i do agree that he has nerve issues in the important games. Or when the game is on the line. Not every time but he has a propensity to choke at times.
Collins is definately a step above Young as long as Young can't throw or read defenses. Michael Vick proved that you have to have more than legs and elusiveness to win the big one. Vick was a lot more athletic than Young and a lot faster.
I say they trade Young off to one of the desperate teams. They go with Collins and call Testeverde to come play back up.

Young can throw, can't read defenses though.

From what i saw when he was playing, he can't throw very good...certainly not at nfl standards. And he has horrible mechanics, not as bad as Carr but still, not a smooth and quick release.

Bud, as is his history, will eventually have something to say to the media about this.
I expect Bud will insist that VY be kept around and worked with. Bud doesn't want to appear foolish by his peers.
Fisher will get his VY instructions from Bud.

The only real knock is that he throws it REALLY hard all the time. He doesn't have any touch. However, watching a titans game, you can see that 1/3 to 1/2 of his incompletions come from ****ty receivers dropping the ball.

Vince can make most of the throws but like you said he struggles with the touch passes and reading defenses. Bad receivers didn't help his cause any but he didn't help them either by throwing balls in places where they couldn't run after the catch. Yosarian, I have to disagree with you on Vince having a slow release because I think he has one of the quicker releases in the league. You want to see a slow release, look at Kerry Collins.
I for one am happy that Collins will most likely be back and believe he can lead this team to a SB. KFC has pulled his share of choke jobs but he played his best games this year when his team needed them. Against Pitt. for homefield advantage and against Baltimore in the playoffs. The only game I thought he played terrible in was in Houston.

My problem with VY stems from that fact that I saw him standing 15 yards away from the nearest teammate and coach all season. I went to the Texans/Titans game and watched about 3 more on TV, and whether you are the starter or not if you are the 2nd string QB you need to have a headset on and be paying attention to the game, the adjustments, and the play calls. You are one injury away from playing, and it is absolutely unacceptable to be standing 15 yards away from everyone with a towel on your head.
Sorry for that rant, I'm not usually so much of a hater, but that just rubs me the wrong way.
