I never judge mock drafts, so it is interesting

I can't say that I see a C going 6th overall when the Bengals have so many needs on defense. With that said, I feel that mock drafts are taken too personally when people analyze just one pick.
The only thing I enjoy reading about in mock drafts is how most people believe the Top 10 will go. I'm still surprised that nobody has the Lions picking Crabtree #1 overall. Most think they won't, but if history has taught us anything about the Lions... :D

OOps..better change the Harvin one. lol Thanks.
-----------------------------------------------
The reason i have us not taking Brown is because i HOPE that we aquire Peppers. But i agree he might be our first pick.
-----------------------------------------------
the reason i picked a center for the bengals is because of the division they are in and the huge interior lines they face The AFC North has some of the elite nose tackles in the business and this would help the hapless, lowly Bengals. There is really only one good center and so i was thinking it might go that way. That pick is probably the biggest stretch on the mock but one that i think can happen.Their center needs to be replaced. If they can't find a center maybe they can find a good barber for ole Eric Ghiaciuc. (see pic)

None of the available OT prospects are good enough to make the Seahawks pass on Michael Crabtree. Larry Fitzgerald tearing up several vaunted defenses in the playoffs helps out Crabtree quite a bit.
Other than Aaron Curry, Crabtree is about as sure of a prospect as you can get. Hyper-talented, hard worker, selfless, and he doesn't disappear in crunch time. Every one of the top OT prospects have questions, the available quarterbacks have questions, the available defensive ends are all athletic, but none of them particularly stand out as a top five pick.
I'm sort of leaning towards some of the more recent mocks that have St. Louis taking Crabtree. They need a left tackle, but I am not sure if they're going to be able to fall in love with any of the available ones. They're probably going to suck again next year, and there will once again be offensive tackles available, but there won't be a michael crabtree available.

Everyone has seattle taking crabtree. But if you follow history...drafting a reciever in the top 5 has been risky business.
2007-Calvin Johnson #2- okay that pick worked out okay so far.
2005-Braylon Edwards #3-Jurys still out after this year
2004- Fitzgerald-#3-okay,he's good.
2003-#2 Charles Rodgers,-injured twice caught using drugs 3 times among other things. He was a Detroit Lion pick though.//// #3Andre Johnson-We all know how that turned out.
2000-Peter Warrick-After 4 seasons of below expectation work he tried the arena then the canadien football leagues but now neither want him.
1996 #1 Keyshawn Johnson-10 out of 11 productive seasons
1995-#4 Michael Westbrook-1 good year out of 7 seasons.
1992- Desmond Howard #4 - 11 disappointing seasons out of 12 and his best year was 40 grabs
-------------------------------------------------------
There seems to be one great reciever coming out every year now that college teams have converted to using the pass. I just couldn't pick a reciever that high when they have other needs and recievers can be picked later. And i thought the OT prospects this year were looking good if you get one early. We must be reading different sports projections. lol But yes, everyone has Seattle picking Crabtree. And the rams could also take him. I agree. You just never know. I tried to take a teams 5 basic areas of need and evaluate who was available at those positions and decide when they should pick that position as to the availablility of talent and the desire of other teams with similar needs to take those positions off the board. They may not be able to get a Crabtree later but they should be able to find a decent reciever and if needed pick up a good one in FA. OT's just don't come around. When you get a chance to solidify your line for several years i think you have to take it. Plus, there OT (Jones)is 35 and he just had surgery. He is a big question mark for them. So that was my reasoning for the pick. But i agree with what you have said except about the quality of the OT's this year.
------------------------------------------------------
Andre Smith too. dammit. That's gonna totally screw up my draft. lol Hmmm okay i better see what i can do to fix it. Thanks. My head was spinning doing it. These mocks are hard to keep straight.
I'll fix the Spikes thing too. Thanks for the input. I plan on doing another after the combine so this is good practice for me.

Did Rey Maualuga die before your mock started?
Well, the ravens and dolphins were the only other ones i thought needed that position.(the rams that picked one) And even though i think he is a first round player..i didn't think the need was there above the other choices...but he will be gone pretty soon when i continue the draft on out to the Texans 3rd pick

Cincinnati Bengals-C-Eric Wood
Buffalo Bills-DE-Tyson Jackson
Jets-OLB-DE-Everette Brown
Well Eric Wood... all the sites i have seen on this guy says late 2nd-3rd rounder
Tyson Jackson has a strong 2nd round rating might sneak into the late first
Everette Brown wont make it past Denver IMO

Yeah, but in the NFL, at some point team needs take a back seat to BPA, and after about 18-20 at the LOWEST, Maualuga is the BPA in the draft.

Crabtree, in my opinion, has fewer questions than the available Offensive Tackles do. Believe me, I'm a huge fan of using top 5 picks on offensive or defensive linemen, because the elite ones go early, and then you have to settle for second best.
If Crabtree didn't have the character and work ethic that he possesses, I would definitely side with the argument that you don't use a top 10 pick on the guy. I think he'll succeed in the nfl for the same reason a lot of talented guys do, he really likes playing football, and he works hard to get the most out of his talent. He reminds me of a slower andre johnson, with better leaping ability. Using the 3rd pick on Johnson seems to have worked out pretty well for the Texans.
Any of those offensive tackles could be great players, solid players, or the next robert gallery, but nothing is guaranteed.

Fixed the Beatty twice. Also fixed the numbers by teams. Thanks again!!!!!
---------------------------------------------------
Okoye, and Jerry on the inside, Mario and hopefully Peppers on the outside...and we can have us a real defense finally.
----------------------------------------------------
I've been doing some background on Crabtree and everything you say is correct. He should be a great pick up. I guess sometimes you have to pull the trigger on a great wide out early or lose the chance of getting one. My after combine draft will probably have Crabtree going 4th.

In my draft scenario which teams would take Rey Maualuga and James Laurinaitis in the first round?
49ers(10th), Saints(14th),Giants(29th)
If we took E. Brown do we start him opposite Mario?
