Micheal Johnson. i watch some highlight tapes of him he is built just like Super Mario.

if Brown is out by then, I wouldn't mind having him and Weaver cutting in and out untill Johnson can prove to be an every-down DE. I would also like it if we can get Bertrand Berry and have him and Johnson switch in and out.
I'm still pulling for us to get Everette Brown.

Not a fan of Walter. His mocks always seem a little off to me. He has us taking William Moore in the 2nd with Patrick Chung still on the board. Comparing the 2 this past season and during the Sr Bowl, this makes absolutely no sense. He has Houston taking Moore in the 2nd because he originally had us taking him in the 1st. Great logic.

i think both johnson and moore are high risk/reward picks. johnson has the physical talent to be a mario/peppers type of end and if moore would have had a senior season like he had in 07 he wouldnt even be there for the texans in the first round. also, we cant forget he played with an ancle injury all season.
i wouldnt be ecstatic if these were are first two picks but i wouldnt be disapointed either. btw, this should be in the draft section...

I think that saying Michael Johnson is built like Mario Williams is a little off. Michael Johnson in anything I have ever seen is very tall and slender. Tall and slender would hardly describe Mario Williams. Williams has 30lbs on Johnson and for a lot of people putting 30lbs on can change your game drastically. Loss of speed and quickness mostly. I hope more than anything that Orapko somehow drops to the Texans but if not then I want Everett Brown. I would hate to see Maybin picked because he everything I have seen is under 240...I do not want a project of a DE under 240.

if you read my post correctly, you woulda seen that i wrote he has the physical talent to "be a" mario williams type DE. in other words, he has the body frame to put on 30lbs of muscle. and yes, i'd take orakpo over him but thats not gonna happen. oh and you do know brown is 230lbs right????

Everything I've read about Brown has him listed at 248-255 pounds so I'm curious as to what your source is on his weight. At any rate, we'll know the exact numbers when they weight in at the combine.

Don't try to make me look dumb when you don't know your own stuff. Everything I have seen on Everette Brown has him listed at 250, plus in all of his videos he shows a lot of skills at bullrushing. He plays powerful. Also a lot of times it isn't easy for guys with a tall skinny frame to put on a lot of muscle. and even so, he is mostly a finesse type of rusher so even if he can pick up 30lbs of muscle how do you know that he won't lose any speed or quickness like I said earlier.

Brown is a beast and I have seen him at 250 lbs everywhere I have looked. He has speed and strength and should have no problem playing DE in the NFL. Johnson needs to put on weight and with the talent of the strength and conditioning coaches in the nfl, it should be no probelm adding another 15-20 lbs of muscle to get him to the 275 lbs range without loosing much speed. If I could choose I would take Brown. Unfortunately, Brown will most likely be gone when we pick.

If anyone watched Johnson and Moore in their last two games they would be the first to yell take them OFF the draft board. Johnson against Georgia and LSU was easily handled with no effort at all. He was a nonfactor in both games. Against the better competition he looked weak and out of place. Just plain bad. Moore looked like he was over weight and slow. Moore also was a non factor. His poor performance at the Senior Bowl had coaches and scouts saying he may be better suited at LB. When you compare Johnson's college stats against other DEs there is about 15 players who rank ahead of him. Both these guys will be 2nd RD or later picks. Robert Ayers will go ahead of Johnson.

johnson at 15 would be a joke unless he runs 4.50, benches 30 reps, has a 40 inch vert, and 11 foot broad jump, and scores a perfect score on the wonderlich.

i didnt try to make you look dumb. and yes i did see that he was listed at 230lb. heres a prime example. http://www.tomahawknation.com/2009/1/8/713642/exit-interview-everette-br
but, i also just saw on espn that he's listed 250 there. anyways i was just saying johnson has the body frame to put on 30 more pounds.
oh and him at 15 isnt as much of a reach as yall think. he had very similar seasons to the other top ends this year. this is just the only year he has done it.

I am confused because I saw a couple different weights for him on this site but I believe they were all 250+.

...It wouldn't surprise me at all if Michael Johnson ended up in the Top 5, even #1 when Draft Day comes around. The Texans took a chance on a larger than life DE in 2006 and it has paid off quite nicely. I have a sneaking suspicion that another team will try and replicate our 2006 success story (Mario Williams) and make Michael Johnson its #1 pick.

I doubt he is a 1st RD pick....wait until after the combine and you will agree with me. Can't wait that long? Go watch the Georgia and LSU game, that ought to cure your Michael Johnson man love.
