Here's what I'm thinking for the NFL Draft as of now:
Round 1 - OLB Larry English, Northern Illinois
I like the fact that he has tremendous pass rush ability, which is #1 on my priority list heading into the Draft.
Round 2 - S Sherrod Martin, Troy
I think he could wind up playing CB for us. He's incredibly athletic and had 59 tackles and 4 INTs last season.
Round 3 - DE Lawrence Sidbury, Richmond
I didn't even know who he was before the Senior Bowl. Had heard his name, but only saw what he was capable of and fell in man-love with him. Long and athletic.
Round 4 - OL Ramon Foster, Tennessee
I always like Guards who have the athleticism to play Tackle.
Round 5 - QB Drew Willy, Buffalo
At 6'4" and 214 pounds, he has prototypical size for an NFL QB, to go along with good arm strength. Threw for 3,304 yards and 25 TDs his Senior season; posted a passer rating of 139.33.
Round 6 - WR Darius Passmore, Marshall
I'm making this pick purely based on Passmore's athletic ability. He provides immediate big-play ability and can take it to the house whenever he touches the ball. Averaged over 130 ypg last season at Marshall; could be used as a Wildcat QB also.
Potential UDFA's I like - RB Bernard Scott, Abilene Christian (5'10" 195)
OL Cornelius Lewis, Tennessee State (6'5" 300)
Please let me know what you think, as I'm always interested to hear what you guys have to say!

I think English would be OK if Brown and Orackpo are off the board in a trade down situation only, from 15 to 22 or so Detroit at 20 might want our pick to get Sanchez if they don't pick Stanford number one. Maybe his stock rises from where it is now but I have seen few mocks withim in the top 20
2-6 all seem to be small school guys, they might all be a round too early to draft. Since when is 6'4" 214 prototypical size??? 214??? Carr was 230 ish Matt is 234

Maybe 'prototypical' wasn't the right word. I should've said "I like his size."
Martin could have a Rookie year similar to/better than McKelvin's. He's freakishly athletic.
Have you seen Sidbury play? I'm afraid if he has a good showing at the combine, he might not be there when I want him.
My view on "small school" guys is simply this: If they absolutely excelled against other "small school" guys, I would LOVE to see what they can do when the competition is raised up a notch. I don't think I'm reaching for any of them.

Certainly addresses our needs , add a free agent running back and we are set. More and more i love the idea of an aggressive OLB in rd 1 ,which there are 3-4 good ones even in a trade down scenario.

I like the idea of going olb in the first, i just don't like the guy you selected. 15 is a bit high for him and since he played DE in college, I question his ability in coverage.
Martin isn't a bad selection but I probobly would have gone DE here. The value picks for DE start in the 2nd round.
Sidbury should be a solid 3rd down DE but the problem is, he won't see the field on the first two downs (atleast early in his career). I would rather find an every down DE in the second and then go S in the 3rd.
Your fourth selection is good. We need to atleast add some depth to the interior line and I think you did it.
I wouldn't go QB in this draft. First of all it is a weak QB class and secondly I think we have more pressing needs. The Texans will more than likely take a RB in the draft because this way they won't have to spend a couple million on a back up. I think this is about the spot the RB is taken. Besides, I doubt this guy is any better than Alex Brink.
Don't know anything about the 6th round guy. I guess it depends on what the Texans do with David Anderson. If he comes back and they keep Jones (I think they will) then I doubt we go WR. We won't keep 6 WR's.
I would like to have seen a CB taken somewhere in the later rounds. It wasn't a bad mock, you put a lot of effort into it. It just isn't my favorite. I'm no GM though.

It's an interesting one. I wouldn't go this way, but I see where you're coming from. Here's my thoughts on the picks:
1 - I like Larry English, but I think 15 would be reaching. If we took him in round 1 I'd like to see us trade down quite a long way to do so and pick up an extra depth pick in round three. There'll be some serious bargains left on the board in the third in positions like OLB and OL.
2 - I quite like this pick, but for me SS is as big a need as corner and I think if you're going to go defensive back in round two or three you could get better value from a hard hitting safety like Patrick Chung
3 - I like Sidbury - good pick.
4 - Great player for our system.
5 - I agree with GoldenHolden on this. I don't like this year's QB class unless we're picking up a raw undrafted FA after the draft itself. There are some interesting prospects who won't be drafted so maybe it's worth having a look at one or two of those, but I think our picks can be better used (if Sage stays with us, of course).
6 - I see what you're saying about athletic ability, but we're so deep at WR that I'd much rather we picked up a Sammie Lee Hill or a Tony Fiametta who represent a higher position need and could well fall this low.
Always interesting reading your thoughts Coach. Always thought provoking.

Round 1 - OLB Larry English, Northern Illinois (Doesn't fit our system well Cushing is a better fit)

I think he could wind up playing CB for us. He's incredibly athletic and had 59 tackles and 4 INTs last season. (could pic this guy up in the 3rd possibly 4th round)
Round 3 - DE Lawrence Sidbury, Richmond (This guy should be around in the 4th round/ decent player and should be looked at)
I didn't even know who he was before the Senior Bowl. Had heard his name, but only saw what he was capable of and fell in man-love with him. Long and athletic.
Round 4 - OL Ramon Foster, Tennessee (Watch Lydon Murtha's 40/ guy is a perfect fit for a ZBS)
I always like Guards who have the athleticism to play Tackle.
Round 5 - QB Drew Willy, Buffalo
(Should be there in 6th or 7th round if not undrafted)
At 6'4" and 214 pounds, he has prototypical size for an NFL QB, to go along with good arm strength. Threw for 3,304 yards and 25 TDs his Senior season; posted a passer rating of 139.33.
