Don't let the door hit you on the way out, fat albert!!

but seriously, $100 mill for a player?? that's crazy money that no player is worth. Glad someone is willing to overspend to get him out of a titans jersey.

Must... not.... cry....

Seriously though, this is great news for us, he gets to beat up on Romo twice a year now.

Its great news as it makes Bud Adams wallet cry out in pain.

Redskins constantly overpay for players that don't fit. This will only make Haynesworth harder to sign on the dotted line in Tennessee

I will be glad to see Big Al get out of the AFC South. Even as much as I hate this THUG, I do respect his skills. On the other hand his agent says that his payday will be the biggest payday of any defensive player in NFL History. If the Redskins want to pay that and cripple themselves for a few years go for it, but I think it is completely ridiculous to pay him that kind on money. NFL officials really need to look into putting a cap on players salaries, or at least make it performance based on an even scale. Thats my 2 cents.....

wait till next year if you want to see ridiculous salaries

Bud's wallet won't be hurting at all if Haynes takes the show to DC. He definitely will shut it down there when their constantly last in the division. i think it benefits Titans if he doesn't sign. We'll be able to address other positions than to tie all that money into one guy. Snyder is idiotic if he does this

It will if he decides to match it should have been my response.

naw, I understood where you were coming from. I don't see the Titans matching any offers for Haynes. The Titans have got to be the most frugal team in the history of sports. Nobody in the league is worth that kinda money.

Most frugal team is buffalo by far.

I wouldn't put it past Snyder but I am not sold on the validity of this deal. The Redskins have the least amount of cap space in the league and I think D.Hall wants to get paid also so I don't know how they can afford him unless they do some serious cap manuplation and cutting fast.

Speck could be stirring up these rumors to drive the price up. I don't think there are that many teams that are willing to pay a guy that much money with a injury and motivational problems. Not to mention the difficulty in structuring the deal with the CBA issue unresolved.

I'm glad our FO is not as stupid as the Redskins and put sooooooooooo much money in one player. However let me be the first to say, Mr. Romo meet Mr. Haynesworth!LOL

The guy is going to be like 37 when his contract is up...this is just stupid. And before that the skins signed that CB to a 55 mil contract...

Who is happier Haynesworth or Matt Schaub?

It must suck to be a Titan today, if they don't get of the fence Kerry Collins will be a Jet too.

I think tennesee knew what was up when Haynesworth didnt sign, I think he was looking for 100mil from tenn to match and they wouldn't Holla.

That would be like having the Cowboys sign Mario away from us, that would really hurt....

Its the business known as the NFL, Its why we need to produce a better record than 8-8 and address the LDE position as well as better coverage to keep the qb in the pocket a second longer. Produce wins and a possible championship and players are willing to stay

What a contract. And the Redskins have a legit shot at getting Orakpo as well. They could very well turn their line around in one offseason. Gonna be very interesting to see how this works out.

I also hope no Titans fans blame not having Haynesworth when we beat them. :p

What I find amazing is how many current players contracts they were able to rework to get under the cap to lock up both of these players.

That is going to be atough D, I hope the NFC east does there best to beat up on the AFC team they play this year. We get them the next year. Anyone know which AFC division draws the NFC east?

Just looked it up it is the AFC west (that means only one playoff team will come from the AFC west Division winner only imo

I don't blame the Titans for not matching that ridiculous contract. However with Butt Adams as the owner get used to it. He is a tight wad. They will lose alot of good players over a couple of mil.

Stupid money type contract and they gave DHall 55 mill. Not sure how they get away with it every year, but I suspect these two will come back to haunt them both from a money standpoint and from a performance. Tacks were smart letting him go and yes I know he is a force, but that is just stupid money. However, as someone said, they had better get off the dime and sign Collins before he gets to the Jets or they will be in tough shape.

2010 might be an uncapped year. I think D. Synder has some inside scoop on this. There's a reason why he's a billionaire business man and we are not. Most people will not agree with his "NY Yankee" type spending and many of those signing have become bust, he always finds a way to be under the cap.

If there is no cap what in 2010 you can forget about getting any good FA with the owner of the Redskins throwing that kind of money around now he is going to lose it when he doesn't have to worry about a cap. He gets Fat Albert, Hall, and is going after the G that was cut from the Bills can't recall his name Dockery I think.

actually in the uncapped year there may not be much in the Free Agency. frugal owners just qwon't bid on players without an allowance the few rich teams may shop but the other teams won't which means way too many egos and not enough team players

Yea, it sucks to lose Big Al but I would have been more upset if TN had matched that offer. I like Al but I don't trust him to keep playing at the same level he has been. I think he will still be a good player but I have doubts about him earning that contract. So good luck Al, your gonna need it. Most of the players the Titans have let go in the past probably regreted it. I think we can all be happy that he is out of the division and AFC at least.

Fat Albert got a Fat Check he will sit on his Fat Butts spending his monies, usually that's what happen when a player get more then hi deserved.

Thank you Bud-hole!!! Keeping Collins AND letting Haynesworth go, could you talk Polian into trading Manning to another conference while you at it;)

This is the best news for everyone in the AFC South, and for the AFC in general, in a long time.

Now we can count on Matt getting hurt less often.

I think the Titans knew last summer they would not be able to sign Haynes. That's the reason they drafted Jason Jones. Most people don't realize that Jones had 5 or 6 sacks playing behind Haynes, as well as DE. He missed a few games himself. Bottom line, Haynes is and will be replaced. Haynes didn't become the tackle he is until he got with Chuck Smith in Atlanta. The Titans have one of the best D-Line coaches in the league. They might miss Al some, but i think we'll be okay...

Jason Jones piled up all his sacks. In a few games. That doesn't matter though. I am glad that he is out of AFC south while jacking up the cost of every defensive player in the league. Way to go.

Hell, i'm glad he's out the AFC, but i'm willing to bet that by midseason, a lot of us probably will have forgotten about him cause his groin or hammy is pulled or strained...
