True LE? Why not? Show flashes of pass rushing, very strong, good run support. Better than Weaver.

I would prefer not. Guy is a 3-4 end plain and simple. Good vs run but he will be another anthony weaver when it comes to the pass rush.

He had some sacks in college but much of that was due to his size and strength. He won't be able to overpower nfl RT's. He would be great against the run but he doesn't have the speed, burst, or collection of pass rushing moves to get to the qb in the nfl. He is taylor made to eat up blocks and open holes for lb's in a 3-4 system.

i think the Texans will have to choose between MJ and TJ at # 15 if they want a DE in the first round. They are who will be available, have the frame to play in 4-3 and have the value at # 15. MJ has very good physical tools but his motor is very questionable, a boom or bust player. TJ is decent pass rusher and could be elite against run but his motor is questionable too and we already have a TJ who is a bust. So the Texans have to take a hard look on both of them before deciding.

I agree those will be the 4-3 De's available at 15. That being said, I say we go OLB in the first if we stay at 15. We can still improve the pass rush with the pick and get a more quality player as well. TJ and MJ could be available at the end of the first or begining of the second if we want to trade up from our 2nd or back from our first.

A couple of days ago, I got a wild notion, that the KC Cheifs were going to be the Atlanta Falcons of 2009. This draft, and last years were the major contributing factors, plus a new head coach, and Matt Cassell.

But, I got to thinking about this guy. Tyson Jackson.

I saw a few comparisons to Richard Seymour on the KC forum, and that got me thinking. I always held the belief, that we would have wasted our first round pick, had we put Mario at DE in a 3-4.

But here is Scott Piolli doing just that, with Tyson Jackson. The number 3 overall.

We shall see.

Personally, I see Tyson Jackson as more of a 3-4 DE. He isn't the pass rusher that Mario is and he never will be. He is great against the run though and will be great at eating up blockers in the 3-4. I think he is a good fit for the Chiefs but I don't think he was worth the #3 pick. But like you said, we shall see.
