So, for argument's sake, its the 2nd round and Chung, Delmas, and Sean Smith are on the board. Who you got and why? I just want to get some opinions on the strengths/weaknesses of the 3. All of them are pretty intriguing to me.

Delmas, he really impressed me at the Senior Bowl. He has good range and has bawlhawking abilities. He can also hit well. I don't see him falling to us at 46 but with the extra picks we have and the fact that the need for a DE had been lowered with the pickup of Smith, I could see us moving up in the draft for the guy. The only thing holding us back may be the fact that we just resinged E. Wilson.

Sean Smith. Not only do I love big safeties, he's got good speed, and he's a better ballhawk than Chung.
He's about even with Delmas when it comes to run support, but Smith's size ultimately does it for me.

Delmas all day long...I agree looks like we could go safety in the 2nd, Which I believe could happen if the Top tier C/G are gone. Now that we have our DE, there will be some great value in the 2nd round in regard to FS/SS. Delmas, Smith, Chung, Rashad Johnson, and even William Moore. Moore showed me a little more at the combine. I believe he was hurt all year and really couldn't play to his ability. I would be happy with any of these guys.
***Delmas will be gone by our 2nd round pick although***

I am really intrigued by both Delmas and Smith. Smith's size I love but many people said that Delmas was one of the top players at the senior bowl. I think with the pick up of Smith we could ultimately do something about the D-back situation in the first round. I think both of these guys can be justified in the late first and I wouldn't be surprised to see that happen to get to the end of the first and grab one of them. With that in mind I think we will wait it through the first round to see if someone like Vontae Davis or Malcom Jenkins fall to us, if not I expect a trade down scenario for picks and grab one of these two at the end of the first.

trade back and take delmas late in the 1st round. i like chung, but it sounds like barber will be starting at ss next year. imagine if we had delmas and barber starting w/ wilson and ferguson for depth.

I don't think we can go wrong with any of them, they would all be upgrades
I'll cast my vote for Chung.
Have you seen film on this guy hit! I think he had like 4 knockouts last year. If he can keep healthy hitting like that in the pros, then all WRs would be looking over their sholders for him. He could bring the fear factor.

Should do a poll for this.
Chung gets my vote as well. Great player, great character.

chung is a SS

It's a tie between Delmas and Smith but i would rather have Delmas as i saw him at the senior bowl and the senior bowl practices and was extremly impressed. He reminds me of Dominque Rodgers-Cromartie from last years draft in his upside and he can play both safety and corner.

if we do not pick up one of these guys mid-late first round, then we better trade up in the second round. i would be surprised if any of them fell to us at our current spot in the second. just have to have faith in smithiak...

I agree - as someone else said, we already have a FS in Eugene Wilson. Chung is the only natural SS of the three.

Have to go with Smith Big, Fast, Ballhawk and with what should improve our Dline with A.Smiths aquistion at DE and our new DC's Philosophy of upfield attack I could see alot of big TO's coming in our secondary and he would be good competition for Barber and give us Depth if not an immediate starter.

I'm going to go with Sean Smith. With his size and ballhawkness (its a word, look it up...) I think he will be a very good FS. I know we have Eugene Wilson now, but no fan is thinking that Eugene Wilson is our future at safety. This might be the best senario for Sean Smith if he can do Special Teams for a season and learn from a vet like Wilson. We already have our SS (hopefully) in barber.

Ill take Delmas he can play corner or FS. Yes we signed Wilson to a 3 year deal and unless we totally suck next year we won't be in the running for Taylor Mays. So it is that reason I would love Delmas Barber is a hitter and may surprise you with some game time. He impressed enough we wont see CC anymore..

Smith has great size (6-4), he is fast and a ballhawk player. He could play at both the cornerback and safety position. What's not to love about him?
My only problem is that he wont be there when we draft in the second.

I like all 3 but I chose Patrick Chung because he fills a bigger need for us. We just re-signed Eugene Wilson for 3 more yrs. so I doubt we go FS early and since Delmas is a FS that leaves him out and Smith is a CB/FS tweener leaving him out as well. We need a good SS badly and Chung is the best one in the draft. Chung just makes more sense for the Texans.
