interesting decision if Jenkins is still available at 15. Ideally, we trade down with detroit and get mathews plus another draft choice - probably get detroits's 3rd round pick if they trade with us. question is: do we pass up jenkins who would be a great db or safety for us?

If Jenkins is available at 15 then the Texans shouldn't have any problem trading back. Best cas scenario would be to trade back and take Mathews but he is flying up the draftboard and we might have to take him at 15. Jenkins definitely is a good player and would help if Dunta walks next year.

No brainer, pass on the saftey, especially after signing Eugene Wilson to a new contract.
Matthews it is.

U take Jenkins and make him a safety...Wilson??? How long are we going to wait to not draft someone who can fill the role rather than take re treads.

Heck, Take Jenkins and make Dunta a FS. As much as he likes to hit and gets burned on double moves and easily outjumped playing Corner, might as well move him to FS and make Jenkins at CB.

Diles, Demeco and Adibi are a good line up with speed at LB.

I would have to differ, Safety this year seems to be a pretty deep draft. An OLB that could start at strong side and even rush the passer on 3rd downs is what we need. Smith will be able to move inside if need be and TJ can take 3rd downs off. An option would be Okoye and Smith inside and Mario and Clay on the ends in passing situations. I think Mathews would allow us to be fairly versitle in our "attacking" Bush D.

I'll pass on a guy that wants to play CB but will be forced to play FS. He wouldn't be happy and his play would more than likely effected.

Definately do not draft Jenkins. Thats the last thing the Texans should do. If Vontae Davis is around at 15, I'd hope that we would jump on him. Otherwise, trade down for Matthews, or draft Cushing.

I agree with you Jeff, there is no way I see Kubes thinking that Wilson is our long term answer. Sure he played great last season but so did Demps in '07 but he bombed last season. I think if Jenkins they should draft him with the intention of making him a S. My ideal move would be to trade down, grab an OLB (Mathews)and grabbing S Moore in the 2nd, then taking our DE in the 3rd.

I don't think we need a high round CB. We haven't even see Molden on the field yet, and we could always use another position. Preferably a DL or LB. I don't see any CB in this draft that makes me think he can be worth a 1st round pick.

I really think this is going to be a very interesting draft and I like our options going in.
We could go with Mickael Johnson, Cushing, Vontae Davis, or maybe one of these O linemen fall to us. All of these guys won't be there when we pick, but I think we'll go for BPA when we get on the clock. The signing of Smith opens some other possibilities as well. I could also see us moving back 10 spots and picking up Matthews and a pick. Possibilities are endless....I'll be watching!

Matthews' speed may hold him back, maybe his "heart' will off-set that though. I think we could trade back 10 spots and get him.

i think the 40 time at the combine was a fluke. he has played with the best WR's in college and shut them down. Do i think he can run with the Moss's, AJ's, and Fitz's? no, prolly not, but he's be a great no. 2 corner and prolly an all-pro saftey. I dont think Wilson is the answer. he's a good plug-in for right now by thats's it. so i say jump on him... you just cant pass on a guy that looks like a top 5 pick on tape IMO.

His 40 time was just so-so. Middle of the LBs, but his 20 time was # 2 and faster than all but 4 WR IIRC. IMO, the 20 time would mean more for a rush than a 40 time.....of course he might have to chase the QB back 40 yards at some time. LOL Also his 3 cone was real fast, I think it was 4th fastest. So it looks like his long speed is middle if the road (still good enough to cover a TE though), but he is really quick off the mark and I think that bodes well for getting to the QB and he has played with his hand down some.

Matthews had the 4th best time of all LBs, 4.67. Better than Cushing and Maualuga. I suggest a few of you do some reseach before you post again. Your embarrasing yourselves.

well since you did your research you would know that maualuga pulled his hamstring during his 40 run.

Yes, thank you i did my research, in fact I watched Maualuga live pull up just after crosssing the finish line and running a 4.83 40.

4.67 is a **** good time for a SLB, and Clay Mathews Jr. could then play on a team where his uncle coaches the OL.

i say draft jenkins as a corner back @ 15 if he is there. he ran a slow 40 but on film, he's by far the best cb prospect in this draft. he is a darn good football player and some team would be lucky if he fell to them. hopefully its the texans.

As much as I dont want to take a CB at 15...if we are not going to trade down and Jenkins is there at 15, he is more than likely the BPA. In that case i say why not...

Robinson
Jenkins
Reeves
Bennett
Molden

Thats would be a good group of CB's.

I would rather trade back and take Mathews if the opportunity presented itself...
