Now with Smith at DE, all the Texans positions of need have the best value at 25-40th pick area. Interior O-line, LB, and S would likely be reaches at 15. UNless they think someone like Matthews is their guy and is a lock for major playing time, you gotta think they would like to load up on picks in the 2-4 rounds where GM's really make their name. Thoughts?

I agree, I would like the Texans to trade back into the bottom of the first and try to get another first day pick. I think that would probobly consist of two trades but we will have the picks available to make some moves.

We are in a great position. We have the luxury of either picking some body that unexpectedly drops to 15 like Curry or Raji (Would never happen) or trading down to early to late 20s in the 1st round. I hope the Texans take the lead from NE. NE never over pays. They have 3 2nd round pics!!! They will get 4 high quality starters in day one of the draft and not have to over pay because of them being high draft pics.

We No doubt could trade back to say: 20-25 and recieve an additional 3rd or 26-31 and possibly snag a 2nd or a 3rd and 4th package.

15th pick: 1050 pts.

25th pick and 57th: 720+330: 1050 pts.

I seriously doubt a team would give up a 2nd for ten spots unless someone they covet drops. But you can see that we should be in the driver seat.

Clay Mathews, Luis Delmas, Sean Smith, and Peria Jerry should all be on the board till at least 23 with NE.

I would be happy with any of the 4 players above in the later 1st round.

I would be happy either way. The mid round picks are good to be in because they're not that high and also are easier to trade.

If we're targeting someone like Matthews we'll probably trade down, but I'm thinking we may just go BPA at 15. No telling who may slip through, be it a DB, OL, DE, LB. I could even see us grabbing a WR. The possibilities are endless. It's going to be very interesting.

with SD at #16 and wanting a RB, if someone wants to trade up for Wells or Knowles we are their last chance.
