Okay this goes against everyhting we've all been talking about but i just wanted to see what yall thought about trading our first and the 4th we got in the Sage trade for maybe an earlier pick to try and pick up B.J. Raji from Boston College? We got our end in Antonio Smith now we need a dominant DT next to Amobi to stuff the run. i Think we could do just fine with Zac Diles another year especially if the D-Lline takes pressure off the linebackers IMO. Thoughts??
To be honest I'm ready for some safer picks. DT's and even DE's have the highest boom or bust ratio. Take a LB(Willis, Mayo etc..) who you know will be successful or a stud o-lineman. Heck i'd move down and take Knowshon or Donald Brown for that matter. I like the idea of having the dominant front four but I just can't stomach another first rounder on the d-line.

I'd do it in a heartbeat. He isn't like TJ, everyone knows he is going to be good, he has quick feet is super strong and is what we are looking for to make Okoye look good.
How far can you move up with a 4th in the first round? A spot or two? It would take our second to move up five spots and maybe the 4th as well. If they can move up into the top ten with that 4th though, sure, do it. Cause on second thought a $100 mil d-line is the same as Big Al anyway(or would that push us up to 125-150 mil on that kind of line?)

I'll pass. I don't want to nor does the FO want to pay top 10 $$$. This draft is loaded in the 3rd and 4th rounds. I would much rather trade back and pick either Clay Mathews or Delmas. We could turn this club around with 6 picks in the first 4 rounds.
Dorsey was a sure thing last year as well...

I haven't exactly looked at stats yet but I don't think any 1st round DTs have panned out to well lately (I THINK I heard something about Ellis being alright). We can get a big guy in rounds 2-4 somewhere.
If we draft another DT in the first round this season, I think it will set us back. It is my opinion that we will all breath a sigh of relief this time next year knowing we didn't draft one in the 1st.

Agreed. I'm tired of wasting first round picks on d-line only to see them fade off into the sunset and do nothing for us and get paid their millions. Draft a LB or DB.

Great point about Dorsey. I like hording picks as well. The only way I would really be interested in trading up would be to move up into the 2nd round where I think there is a lot of value picks in this draft.

Hey it's musicman, i changed my screen name. musicman seemed too soft lol. anyways yeah i agree i dont drafting D-linemen every year either but if you keep shooting, you have to hit something sonner or later. besides, all the DT's we've drafted in the past have been under 300lbs, usually round the 290lb range. this guy is 330lbs. He's already got the size to play in this league and the skills IMO.

Travis Johnson will have better success than B. J. Raji.

I am really excited about the D-Line this year. In Rick Smith's scheme they did alot of shifting before they hit the gap. not they're free to just go at it. I think both Amobi and TJ are gonna have monster years and we really have a good chance to be dominant this year. the whole Raji thing was just a thought.

Yeah, look at the lions. They finally got their man Calvin J. but look at the horrible mess they're in. Like I stated earlier, Drafting DTs in the first will 90% chance set your club back for a good long while.
