The deal was 4 years and $17m. I wonder where that sets the price for Cedric Benson? Ward is making roughly $4m a year and I am assuming he was brought in to start. So bringing Benson in as a backup, considering he wants a larger backup deal, I am guessing it would take $2-$2.5m a year to lock him up. I would be fine offering him something like 2 years for $5m and $1m guaranteed. Does that sound about right?

nah we dont need benson...he brings way too much drama...and he has a prob with injuries...id rather see us pick up Chris "Beanie" Wells In The First round...he is a big young back..and can age with slaton...be perfect...

Benson is actually a very durable RB. Beanie on the other hand, not so much. Hasn't Wells had some sort of injury every year since he has been at Ohio St? Also, no way in hell we snag a 1st round RB. #1 It goes against Kubiak's MO. #2 that would be a slap in the face to our current starter, Slaton. That would be like drafting a 1st rd QB with Schaub only having been our starter for 2 years.

True But Wells Is Big..and alot of college players get injured...plus wells is one of mayocks top RB's...so he must be pretty good...maybe if he falls down that much we can get him in the 3rd....and get OL first/ OLB if one of the good ones slip.....SS...in the 2nd...and a HB in the 3rd rd

Mayock dropped Wells to number 3 on his list of rb's. He even downgraded him to an early second round pick draft grade. I wouldn't put much stock into what any "draft expert" says anyways, they are usually wrong. I doubt the Texans go offense in 2 of the first 3 rounds either. I would actually not be suprised at all if the Texans go defense with their first 3 picks.

It doesn't make sense for Ward to go to Tampa with Carnell Williams and Ernest Graham in place already and no QB. I hope we get Cedric now.

nah there 3rd round pick...should be RB or OL or WR...depending on who is left...first and 2nd..i think they will get OLB..and Safety

im getting a feeling that if one of the WR (and one of the top 3 will be there) slip to 15 we take them to take the pressure off AJ becaus we have J and walter really...the rest cant do much....tbh maclin would be perect across from AJ

yeah well it would be cool to get darrius heyward bey...he got the faster WR time...and could cause probs for defenses...id like to see us grab him...or brandon pettigrew the TE from oklahoma state...he is a great blocker and could be a good 2nd TE...for when we go into the I Form Formation

i hate when people say get this guy because his 40....the 40 doesnt mean ****...its a padless run with barely anything on...in a non game situation

actually the 40 yd dash is a big thing..that people are judged on.....id like to see u run a 4.5 ....he also played good..if u look him up....

ok 4.5 was my range so **** off....but the 40 means nothing....thats a track thing....there is something about in game performance that i take anyday over a great 40....and maclin, crabtree and even harvin are the best WRs in the draft and atleast 2 should be there at our pick and your dumb to take heyward-bey over any of those guys....heyward-bey will be 2nd-4th round at best....bet that

TexansRage123
03-03-2009, 05:43 PM
for WR's, DB's and Pass Rushers The 40 is a very viable thing....unless u want a slow WR who just has good hands...and crabtree will be with chiefs..maclin will be raiders..and harvin will be with 49ers..most likely..so heyward bey..will be our option if we want him...

wow dude i was a DB/DE/WR/TE(FACT...and know atleast 2 people in the NFL personally) and the 40 means jack....its just something to be able to claim ohh i can burn you i run a 4.4 but if the defender can engage on you well your screwed and then it doesnt matter what you run...the 40 is a meanigless stat....EVERYBODY who knows anything about football knows that...and your specualtion of where these WRs will land are laughable...because all of those teams(except the raiders..come on is all davis he wants alll the college stars) HAVE ALOT MORE IMPORTANT needs than getting 1 WR who will not help them because hes not enough

TexansRage123
03-03-2009, 05:49 PM
yeah well even though u were DB/DE/WR/TE...who cares...u obviously werent good..if u arent in the NFL...so TY VERY MUCH...and im pretty sure with where i place my picks...i keep tabs on all the teams....

yea well you can suck a fat dick because injuries are why i didnt play anymore(FACT: I have the letters and packets from 6 D1 schools still and then one from louisville), unlike you just being a fat out of shape ***** who sits on his video games and compuer 24/7

Ohh and im sorry but not EVERY person to ever play football make the NFL....your a dumb **** plain and simple

both of you rookies if you want to flail insults back and forth use PM (private messages) we don't want to read you little arguements and you need to show a little respect on this board, you guys are taking it way too far, when the mods read your post you will both be suspended most likely, so save us all some trouble and behave.

honestly idc if i get suspended...because i have been a member since 07 i think but just dont need to be on here like i guess you all are(pretty much all the time) but call me a rookie just because i dont post on here and yet i was registered before you...yea typically that makes YOU less senior than me

yes registering in 2007 automatically makes you exempt from suspensions. /sarcasm

I've actually been suspended before, oddly though.

I actually just posted a quote by a Titans fan on youtube in " ". It included profane language, and I manually censored all of it, but accidentally missed one part that would look directed at a member on the boards if you don't see the mistake. I e-mailed the admins but they never replied. Still kind of upset that they never forgave the mistake.
