View Full Version : Carr carried the Texans for 5 years

You guys need to face the truth. Carr carried this team for 5 years. If it weren't for Carr, we'd have been lucky to win half the games we did. He was our best athlete the entire time. He was a better running back than any we've ever had (4.6 ypc). He helped lighten the load on the offensive linemen by making every attempt he could to block 2-3 defensive players on every play. It's kind of difficult to throw the ball down field & block a couple of 300lb linemen at the same time, in case you didn't know.

All those sacks he took, well, he did that to preserve the careers of our fragile running backs. Although, I will say, he did sabotage Tony Hollings career. That one I can’t figure out. It must’ve been a personality conflict.

He also looked out for the defense’s best interests. The sacks allowed our defense to rest some more. If he had scored a TD every time he touched the ball (and he could've), then the defense would’ve had to go right back out there. Yes, he was looking out for their benefit as well.

What some of you want to call making dumb decisions, I call trying to create something out of nothing. Do you really think it was his fault that the receivers couldn’t hang on to all the balls he threw their way? They’re called playmakers for a reason. They should’ve gone up in traffic to get that over thrown ball. They should’ve concentrated on the ball, even though it was thrown in a bad spot, instead of the sound of footsteps closing in on them. And, they should’ve stretched out to catch the ones just off their fingertips. I bet David would’ve caught those balls. In spite of all the drops & misses, he still completed 60% of his passes.

And, he was a visionary. The times he ran out of bounds, those were done intentionally. He was just trying to show the NFL how a wider field, like the CFL has, could add more offense & excitement to the game. But, they didn’t figure it out. There’s a reason why they call it the No Fun League.

So, as you now know, Carr carried this franchise on his back for 5 years. He’s gone now & so is his nearly 3000 yards per year of offense. All of you haters will have to swallow your tongues when he leads the Carolina Panthers to the Superbowl.

Hehe, for those that bothered to read the whole thing, I’m just jacking with the hata’s. [:D]

I still think he did carry this team at times, at least on offense, but that was years ago and he has regressed for 2 and a half seasons now. Even when that was true (IMO), he obviously wasn't that great. He just looked like he could be by about now. Oh well.

You actually had me going there for a while. I thought somebody was actually still defending him.

As soon as he started talking about Carr having 4.6 YPC, I knew he was joking. No one, and I mean no one, talks about a QB's YPC other than Vick. Would be almost as pointless as talking about a WR's YPC, it doesn't mean much.
I really liked the comments about Carr trying to block the D-Linemen, it's actually the best reason I've heard for why he took so many sacks.

Hehe. Just poking a little fun at the ones that can't accept the fact that he's gone & what he does, or says, doesn't matter any more.

However, I do respect what he did for our team & the abuse he took.

Just watched the pre-season game againt the Broncos. Funky side arm delivery, dump-offs to the running back, never looks toward the middle of the field or downfield. Glad he's gone.

All you Carr lovers please disappear. Go to Carolina and continue to suck his ____ if you want to. We're tired of hearing about it.

Well, they're biting kind of slow today, but I got me one. Hook, line, & sinker. Hehe.
