OK,
My buddies give me a hard time about this every year, but WE gotta do something about the Texans cannon that they fire after every Texans score.
The thing is the size of a Tonka toy. C'mon! We need an actual cannon.
We proudly fly the 'COME AND TAKE IT" flag from the Battle of Gonzales which was one of the first skirmishes in Texas' battle for Independence at the Battle Red Bunch Tailgate in the Blue Lot. This flag symbolized for the Texans then and it should now for VICTORY!
So, what does this mean, it means we need a REAL cannon to fire after the Texans score, That's what it means!
I hope that somebody in the front office reads this and gets us a real cannon.
Why not have folks who recreate the Battle for Texas Independence bring a cannon and fire that thing off after we score and win.

I think they should have the cannon in the endzone......so fans could see the cannon.......I always wondered where it was at.....

It IS in the end zone..but it's so **** small you can't see it!
There has got to be some group they can bring in, dressed up like Davey Crockett, Sam Hosuton and Col Travis and shoot off a REAL cannon.
This is my one Texans fan/stadium change crusade for 2007!
Go Texans!

Firing blanks would do the trick. Plus we wouldn't demolish the stadium so that's always good.

Maybe Ac/DC still has those cannons from the we salute you tour. Those things totally shook the whole place and that would be cool as ....
Yes those cannons are lame. Totally un Texan like. Everything is supposed to be BIGGER in texas!

I like the idea of cannons........like AC/DC For Those About to Rock....I saw them live.....A whole row of cannons on top of the scoreboard....I think that would great....... Have 2 sets .....one of each scoreboard.....Have like 5 of them.......5 like a star......

Since a lot of folks haven't seen the "cannon" i took a picture of it yesterday.
I also added a red arrow in case you still can't see it. lol

Yup, that's it. I'll get a shot of it in action at the Dallas game.
It's small but it fires a blank 12 gauge shotgun shell - it's so loud that it scares the living crap out of most people in the area.

I was thinking the same thing... too dang small, we should be embarrassed. But then I was reminded last night at the game just how little room we have on the sidelines for anything bigger. You know UT has that big 'ol cannon, but they've got like 50 yards north of the endzone so its no prob. Our little cannon is loud, still makes me jump a little...

You can't be serious?
Doesn't UofH have one? It was either them or UT. I kind of remember going to the UofH vs Miami game and hearing that loud arse cannon. We need one that loud. Something that will shake the foundation..and, not just a small area of the stadium.

Yep, that's the joke we have as a cannon right now. I have been in contact with a fellow who is part of a re-enactment brigade, they have a REAL cannon. It would be so easy to roll in and out from the tunnel where the cheerleaders come and go down in the sw corner of the field.
I really hope the Texans look this over. If we are gonna have a cannon, it needs to be a REAL one!
Go Texans!

OKAY.....after seeing the cannon in the picture (well sort of) ...I'd have to agree with everybody else....we NEED A BIG CANNON. I can not believe that is what we use....we def need to look into getting a TEXAS SIZED CANNON.

That's a great idea! If we also teach it to snort fireballs we can have that lighting the cannon thing all but wrapped up!
