Did anyone else catch the rosencopter game on the nfl network this weekend? Im watching it now and i forgot how well we played. Its going into the 4th quarter and I think its about time to turn the channel (just like watching the second half of the oilers v bills game, you watching that?). Point is i think we are closer than most of us think.
We didnt have daunte in that game, Greenwood was still playing (lol), Eugene Wilson had just begun to play for us, and Richard Smith was calling the defense.
Am i the only one ready for the season? There is vonte smashing some guy:eek::D
Sorry just had to get it off my chest
Yeah not only was it rosencopter, but that prevent defense was for the birds too!

Saw it on NFLN, then saw the date. No thanks. Call me a homer but I only want to re-watch if I don't remember the outcome, or I know we win. I don't want to spend the off-season looking at mistakes. I credit you for being able to see the good in this game, but the sunken-heart feeling is there from the beginning and I have lost all perspective once I know the sad outcome. Maybe that's why game-tapes in high school gave me such fits...

We better get Vonta some touchdowns next year so he can get to the probowl. He demolishes everybody he hits.

I have to apologize to all of you. I really think I may be cursed. It seems that whenever I dont have to work and can watch a game without recording it, we lose. I cant remember the last time we won a game that i watched. And on several occasions I missed the start of the game but came in at some point. Sure enough, we had the lead but slipped farther and farther behind.
And on the Rosencopter game I had gone to a friends house to watch it with several people. We were talking and doing stuff and not really watching the game, atleast not until the 4th quarter when i realized we were about to beat the colts!! so we all sit down and watch intently. And disaster strikes. 4 turnovers in 4 minutes. Humiliation. Now we are firing people and doing all of this stuff, when all the while it has been me, not them. I am sorry fellow fans. I hope one day you can forgive me. And maybe one day the curse will be broken and I can watch a game and celebrate a win.

Next week NFL Network will show the Texans/Dolphins game from last season. A little better result for us.

I live in Nebraska so I don't see a lot of H-town games. I'll DVR it and watch how the players play(except the last 5 minutes).

I am the same way. Whenever I know I have somewhere to be and try to tape a game, it goes to crap. But it isn't you or me, it is just he way the cookie crumbles.
Although I do cause the Rockets to lose every time I listen to a week night game over the radio.

You are so right! He could be used more in the short yardage game for sure. We do throw him some short passes. If Slaton makes the pro bowl, he should definitely take Vonta along for the trip!

Zach Diles was AWESOME in that game. Tackles behind the line of scrimmage and that interception before halftime was awesome.

I'm a Vonta Leach fan too. He's a fullback who can block, run and catch. I would really like to see him used a little more.

Watching it right now. Other than for 4 min. we played pretty dang well. Of course that is a bit like say "Other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play?"

Certainly lots of criticism can be pointed Sage's way, but as as for the "Rosencopter play", I felt like he was trying to make a play for his team, and I don't fault him too much for it.

:cool:I DVR'd the Ravens game and came home b4 it ended and wouldn't watch till it was over. I was trying to read my wife's reactions from the other room and she has such a good poker face I thought we won till I saw it. That Bum Rosenfels threw his 4th INT and I think I just about lost it. I don't know how good Orlovsky but he can't be as bad as Sage.

What about the next series when he held the ball 5 feet from his body and fumbled?

Ok so i lied about not finishing the game, ut i dont put that play entirely on sage. Yes He did get stiripped and should have thrown the ball sooner (camera angle dosent show if anyone was open) but Eric Winston got owned on that play. It was his man that got to Sage. Whats with Winston getting beat consistently by speed guys? btw Slaton had a great block on his guy.

After the error in judgement of hurdle rather than slide by Sage, it's 4th qtr and we're still passing instead of running and trying to burn some clock? Downfield passes instead of short patterns if the runs don't convert? How does that work?

I know, there is that one play where Slaton wouldn't have made a TD, until Vonta just came in and WHAM!!!!, hit this guy into next week.
We need to get him in, NOW!!

What about the special teams play? Me and my friend would specifically wait for him to lay at least 2 people out every game. He is just a guy that loves to hit. I will be campaigning next year for his probowl run, hopefully we will have the record to warrant it.

I watched the game on NFL netowrk and this time I knew when to start watching something else. needless to say, I did nto watch the entire game... just the 3 quarters of domination.
I watched Reeves specifically and I was still impressed with him play looking back at this game. I love how he gets beat by one of the leagues BEST QBs with passes that were perfectly placed and nearly impossible to catch and people want his head for it. Yet he also had a number of plays that were long bombs and possible touchdowns where he turned and swatted the ball away to break up the play. he is solid and people need to quit crying about him simply because he does not play as a top 5 shutdown corner.

Yeah, no corner could have stopped that play.
Posted this before, but it fits the thread. :D

You're right we played perhaps the best three and a half quarters in Franchise history, only to become highlight reel material for Peyton when he enters the Hall. Frankly, I'm tired of seeing Houston teams on the wrong end of NFL Network replays. Here to a season where we are on the right end of non NFL Network worthy replay, blow-outs.
Go Texans!!!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly it was an amazing game. I feel like they showed it because we dominated the Colts and then Sage opened the flood gates and let them back in. Other than Sage's personal mission to become the starter by forcing plays, we had that game all but wrapped up.
He has a killer instinct and wanted to put the nail in the coffin... just turned out he nailed our coffin shut! :o

yet people were cheering him on a couple of seasons back when we got to 8-8. I never understood why he (Sage) has so much disdain from fans. It was way before the "Rosencopter" game.

You think Sage ever looks abck on that game and laughs? This is one of those memories that a person wishes they could erase from their memory, but it always haunts them at random moments while they try to sleep or in the middle of a football game. Sage would love to forget the Rosencopter game, but that will never happen due to the level of embarassment that he felt that day.

The reason Sage tends to take a lot of flak is simply because he is a gunslinger. He always seems to push the limits of smart play even when he doesn't need to. Obviously the perfect example of it going wrong would be the Colts game. The perfect example of it going right was the Titans game where he threw 4 TDs in the fourth quarter.
Sage is a lot like JJ when he takes the field for returns. you never know if you are going to see one of his amazing days or one of his bad days.

Perfect except he had 3 INT's and a fumble or he wouldn't have needed to throw 4 TD's in the 4th quarter. It was exciting and all, but hardly a great day for Sage.
