And I see we have a pretty easy schedule compared to years past. Of course there are no for sure wins but his is how I see it. Titans, Jags, Colts are always tough games but we can win them. The only real opponents left on the schedule is Patriots, Cards and maybe Bills if they pull it together. So if we win at least one of the two divisional games and worst case lose to the three teams I've named we are 10-6, I see that as Worst case. Here is my point, NO EXCUSES THIS YEAR TEXANS. We are not a new franchise anymore,we are past the building stage. And I also foresee other teams and Rod Woodson talking about how easy our schedule was this year, SO WHAT WE WILL TAKE A WINNING SEASON HOWEVER WE CAN GET IT!!!!:D

That's right. I was ready to say this last year but thought we could use one more year of developement. Anything less than 10 wins this year is unnacceptable.

I know you said "No Excuses" but this team's playoff hopes live and die on whether or not Matt Schaub can stay healthy. I have little faith in Dan Orlovsky take over for any extended period of time. Hopefully we won't have to find out.

If Schaub or Slaton go down for extended periods I can see us falling bellow .500.

If either one of those guys go down, you can pretty much put the season on the back burner. I have no faith in our back-up QB and right now, do we even have a suitable RB to releive Slaton?

last year started out very rough....between the steelers game and the hurricane i thought 8-8 was gr8. every1 knows its all about the D now. KUBIAK knew that the very minute he made HEADCOACH. he has drafted very well so far. i look for this years to be good too. with everything i am seeing the TEXANS do....i just gota hope and pray that our DEFENSE, will step up and do what they are being paid to do for once. with our EASY games this year i see it possible for us to win the division, that would get us goin for sure:D, and maybe, just maybe, our DEFENSE really steps up in the playoffs and we go all the way:D....lol i have waited a lifetime for this, dont make bad posts and spoil it for me...hehe:D

I'm hoping that Donald Brown or LeSean McCoy falls to #46. If not, the Raiders have been rumored to have been shopping Michael Bush. I'd love to see us land him on the cheap to absorb some of Slaton's beating.

Not only is Chris Brown still around , but Kubiak is counting on him to be Slaton's compliment. He does have the size to be a short yardage/redzone back but we will have to see if he is really 100% recovered from his back/lower body problems. I hope he is , he allready trained as a one cut downhill runner since college and he should have several decent years left in his career if he can stay healthy.

Chris Brown is terrible. I mean, i have no doubt that he has the talent to play in this league, but he lacks either the desire, the durability or both to ever be a reliable back. Quite frankly, I think he's just holding on for the paycheck at this point.

I say never underestimate an NFL team until the regular season officially starts for that team.

So if Schaub or Slaton go down everyone here is willing to say "oh well, maybe we will get em next year". Look I'm a Schauby guy, I think he can be a top 10 QB in this league. The thing is eventually people need to start taking accountability if we can't get to 10 wins. Wheather it's Schaub or Kubiak or Smith or whoever. You can't just keep having 1 injury and chalk the season up to a loss. (Notice I'm not even saying play-offs necessarily because you can win 11 and still not make it some years, and some years 9 can get you in but 10 wins needs to happen and soon.)

I sure as h*** hope we r not backd up n our own endzone and have Orlovsky with the ball. That would be a safety 4 sure cause remember with the lions last year he ran out the back of the endzone not known where he was. He is horrible!!!!!!!!!!

Man, let's give him a chance. He played pretty decently last year, including a game against the Texans in Reliant stadium. I predicted some fans would forever brand him for the one safety play just like they couldn't remember anything Rosenfels did that was positive in his time here. The front office apparently doesn't think Orlovsky is horrible just like the Vikings think Sage will take them to the playoffs. Hopefully, Schaub will play 16 games anyway.

Lets trust management after all most people here were freaked out when we didn't get Reggie bust or Vince Dung too.......

Yes, that's what he did on that one play, so that must mean that every time he is backed up to the endzone he will repeat this mistake that he made under pressure. Good evaluation.

I think that I will give Kubiak and Smith's judgement the benefit of the doubt.

I think that with Kubiaks ability to coach young qb's, Orlovsky will be just fine. I know that whenever I make a mistake, (yeah..I made a mistake ONCE), I do my bst to learn from it. I'm not saying that I think that he could carry the team for a whole season, but I do think he can give Schaub the backup that he needs. Let's just hope he doesn't try to do to much when that time comes....GET TO THE CHOPPA...

We are great @ Home, it is on the road we need to improve. If we can win more games on road, we can make playoffs

It all depends on how the schedule shapes up..HAve we got the days and times yet? Till then we do we dont know how its gonna shape up.

I will stick with my 10-6 until proven otherwise preditction from last two years.

Hard to predict how good teams will be since it changes so much during the regular season. Who would have thought that NFC South would have a bunch of good teams last year and teams like the 1-15 Dolphins turned into 11-5 and how good Baltimore was as well.

I think the NFC West will be decent this year as Seattle is now healthy + TJ Houz, SF has progressed significantly with Singletary, Arizona should be tough and the Rams....well maybe not so much.

AFC East will be a lot better this year as well. NE should be back to form (as if 11-5 record was terrible last year) with all their new signings, NYJ should be better without Favre, Buffalo should benefit with TO (unless he screws up things) but the dolphins will regress from last year for sure.

The Texans should win 10 games this year if the defense steps up. I'm not sold on them yet since the FO has not made any major proven FA addition. Sure the draft is coming but you can't expect rookies to make a dramatic impact on the team. The offense needs to improve as well, since we all saw what happened when they played against top defenses last year. Overall take care of business at home and steal a few on the road and Texans should be fine.
