ok DBCoach...the one handed pick gets you excited but i think you'll agree the fluidity of his hips is way above average for a FS and that's the important part for a FS

Yeah, that one handed pick is SICK!!

I'm with you Coach. I don't know why he hasn't been the #1 rated DB from the get-go. He can play Corner or FS in the NFL...and his Corner skills are super-impressive, especially at 6'3" 215.

He can play on my team anyday.

After signing Eugene Wilson to a 3 year contract look for the Texans to draft Wilson's backup in the 3rd RD or later....possibly Rashad Johnson. Texans will look for more of an immediate impact with the 2nd RD pick.

you would think that but the contract that wilson signed is highly cap friendly and easily to take the cap hit off of it if they released him after this year which will probably happen...eugene wilson is a good stop gap type safety but not someone you want manning that spot for years to come...he's easily upgraded and sean smith IMO would be a huge upgrade at that spot...plus you could also move wilson to SS during passing downs to utilize his football IQ and mess with the shorter routs

yeah he is good...but id only want him if we trade down..or do yall think he is worth #15..id like him or malcom jenkins on our seconday...

i think he has more ability than jenkins personally...but there is no reason to draft the kid 15th overall when he could be had in the 2nd round

maybe we trade down...get more picks and have two 2nd rounders...and get sean smith plus shon greene

Look at the needs here:

Baltimore might like him at #26

But you're right. That's why I traded to 28 in the mock going on now. He won't be there at 46, and I can't fathom a trade that gets us to say....34 or 35.

The coaches like Wilson. Wilson is the best FS the Texans have had since Kubiak has been here. Wilson is more than a stop gap. Most last line of defense contracts are cap friendly unless they're a game changing safety. There is not a game changing safety in this draft. There could be 3 in next years draft. I think you're a year to early.

sean smith has potential though...wilson is already what he is. and he isnt GREAT. he is just a basic safety. Sean Smith could definitely help alot. im sure he is faster then wilson meaning he would be better against the run. and he has good pass skills. eugene wilson only looks good cause alot of our people didnt tackle when they shouldve last year. and even if not. he can be a good corner for us. almost anything is better then our 2nd.

This is the kinda of stuff that just drives you crazy. When novice know-it-alls pop off without verifying anything they say. Wilson's combine 40 was 4.48, Smith's combine 40 was 4.50. So for all practical purposes they're about the same. Wilson is 50% stronger 15 reps to Smith's 10 and Wilson can jump higher and longer Smith. So NO, as sure as you are that Smith is faster, he's NOT!!!!!!!!!!!

Texian,

I think you just like to create enemies on this board. What gives you the right to call somebody a novice? Are we all supposed to be enlightened with your opinions? (they're not that great)

When I read one of your posts, I envision a big mouth tumbling down some stairs. So, lighten up on the insults Polly.

See post above yours. When people post erroneous information they are either a novice and don't know what they are talking about or just to lazy to look up the information - you can choose.

Texian..why are u comparing sean smith to Wilson's combine info. im talkin about now. not when they were picked. sean smith also has all summer to get stronger and get faster. so u cant count him out. and when u compared. sure he is stronger but he is barely faster. what u pointed out is highly irrelevant though. since its been a few years since wilson was a rookie. he is prob stronger but slower.

Sean would be a good pick and learn under Wilson IMO. Guys this is an exciting time for the Texans and us fans. Does everybody realize that for a change we are arguing about upgrades more than just getting someone that might have talent. Come on Draft Day. OK group hug....:p

I do hope that they adress the secondary early in the draft though. A ball hawking safety that can cover and ring someones bell would be great for our team.
