Peria Jerry has the commodity every NFL covets -- he's a pass-rushing defensive tackle.
He isn't the 320-pound run stuffer favored by some NFL teams. He played at 290 last season but bulked up to 299 for NFL teams at the scouting combine in March. He doesn't play the game at the line of scrimmage. A master of penetration, he plays the game in the backfield of the opponent. Jerry led the SEC with 18 tackles for 80 yards in losses last season and ranked among the national leaders in sacks by a tackle with seven.
Jerry is relentless. One NFL coach told me he throws his body around more than any big man he's ever seen

I would be down with him at 21 if we traded with Philly, he won't be there at 28 if we trade with the latter pick. I would also take him at 19 if we trade with the bucs wanting freeman in front of jets

i don't have a problem with jerry...in fact he's probably a better prospect for the 3 technique than amobi was coming out of college...the only hesitation i have with drafting him would be here the amount of money invested in our DT's...that would be 3 number one picks at one position...just think that's a lot of money to be spending on one position

I would much rather have Jerry than I would Raji. Jerry is a good player.

just think what they cost as free agents though, okoye and Tj combined will make less in their NFL careers than haynesworth will make in 5 or 6 years.

I would not rule out a possible trade involving TJ for a pick in this draft. Not a likely scenario but a possible one. TJ is in a contract year. Hopefully, he will play accordingly and surprise everyone. If not, we will let him walk next year and get a compensatory pick for the 2010 draft. Hopefully, a third rounder. I think his days as a Texan are numbered. He is one of the few guys remaining from the CC/DC era. That says alot about the state of the team when Kubiak/Smith took over.

Sorry, if Raji is miraculously there at 15 the Texans WILL draft him....Raji is a true NT, Jerry is not.
