HOU gets: #20 and #82
DET gets: #15
If DET passes on a QB at #1, they would have to leap NYJ at 17, DEN at 18 and TB at 19 to have a shot at Josh Freeman.
The thing that could throw a wrench into this idea is if this happens:
CLE takes Stafford at 5
SF takes Sanchez at 10
DEN takes Freeman at 12
If all goes our way on Day 1, I really see this as a possibility.

I think there has to be at least a 50/50 chance of trading down. Baltimore/NE/Minn/TB/Lions all hopefully will be wanting good old 15. I hope Raji and some of the other top pics come out on the list tomorrow for the wacky tobacky. I hate to say that, but it will help our situation for a possible trade down if former top 10 players are dropping into the teens.

If I owned the Detroit Lions, and I don't... But to me, I wouldn't even draft a QB this year... I would take OL and D help out the wahoo and make my team stronger. Then in next years draft, you have 3 QB's coming out that have all won Heismans... Yea Baby... Then grab a Bradford or Tebow or who ever... Would make your team strong for years to come... Just my opinion cause I am not a fan of the Lions by any means... I mean they do have a QB they took in the 2nd round in 07 and he hasn't played a down... Time to get out there and earn that money...:D

I understand you, but you know the Lions will draft a QB in the 1st Round.
And there's a reason Drew Stanton hasn't played much. ;)
By the by, Tebow won't be a franchise QB in the NFL and Sam Bradford will, IMO, follow the same fate. Heisman trophy winning QBs endure terrible NFL careers:
Gino Torretta
Danny Wuerffel
Michael Bishop
Matt Leinart
Jason White
It's a personal theory of mine, but I think I'm onto something with it. Never draft a Heisman Trophy winning QB.

Let your head deflate a little before you post again.

None of those QB's had the talent Sam Bradford has, and only Leinart sniffed the 1st round. Wuerffel was closest, taken in the 3rd round.

Detroit might want to trade up if there is still a decent LT available. Cherilus is better suited for RT.

These are just my opinions and not a knock at you or your thoughts:
1. Detroit is almost more than likely to go QB with the #1 pick.
2. Take it for what it's worth but word out there(from ESPN's Todd McShay and some other places if I remember right) is Sanchez is looking good at being picked 4th by Seattle. Even if not, Cleveland is in no need of a QB.
3. Sanchez could go to SF, yes I believe that, but again, rumor is Washington may trade with Jacksonville at 8 and take him.
4. Freeman going #12 would be a huge reach if you will. Even a team like NYJ at 17 and the Bucs at 19 he would be considered a reach. Most people either like him as a first or consider him a reach in the first. Obviously you see where I stand with that. But in the end, if Detroit doesnt go QB with the #1 pick, yes I could perhaps see this all happening.

Well just my honest opinion, this draft is weak in 2 areas, DB's and QB's. Only a dire need will make them players 1st rounders. And with Detroits luck with drafting QB's in the 1st round, well we probably already know the destiny of Detroit's picks... :o

Lions will most likely grab the OT from baylor first Jason Smith. Cause he is an awesome LT and would be stupid to pass him up. They Say its always good to start with building ur lines. Seattle going with a QB is stupid since hasselbeck is still good..sure he is coming off an injured season but im sure they wont waste a 1st pick on whats not a dire need. 49ers would choose sanchez before stafford cause staffords parents were divorced and stafford didnt wanna talk to singletary said he didnt want stafford if he couldnt talk out his problems. washington still have a good QB in campbell. he is gettin better n better. they lost cause there running game failed after portis was injured. i think at #15. our only hopes are the lions, jets, buccs....NE wont trade up...they have no needs for that. Minnesota will prob go WR. so they wont need to trade up unless they want nicks that bad. baltimore might trade up with us again if they feel they really need something since teams like to stick to there recent trade partners. i still hope we get jenkins and only person who needs em before us is N.O. and i dont care for davis.

he may have won the heisman but he wasn't picked in the first round.
You fail to mention that he had a 4 year military commitment with the Navy and some pesky little tour of Vietnam. Staubach was a 27 year old rookie because he chose to serve his Country first.

Just imagine how good he would have been if those 4 yrs. had been spent in the NFL. Staubach got drafted late because he came from Navy and this was before they let you out of your 4 yr. committment if you went pro.
As for the trade down, I'd gladly take #20 and #82 for #15. Lets hope that Smith and Kubiak are exploring all the trade down possibilities. Just 6 more days of waiting.
