OK lets see who has the best predictions for the Texans draft. Here is how it goes, pick each selection the Texans will make based on the picks they have going into the draft. No trades. You get 3 points for getting the player and spot correct. 2 points if the Texans select the guy in the same round but with a different selection (due to trade). One point if the Texans pick the guy in a round other than the one you predicted. The deadline will be 3pm on Saturday the 25th. To make it easier on me just post your predictions, it will be difficult to scroll through and score each selection if there is alot of conversation in between each entry. Here are my selections:
Round 1:
15: Brian Cushing OLB
Round 2:
46: Lawrence Sidbury DE
Round 3:
77: Rashad Jennings RB

I'll get one up soon, picking beyond the 4th round is just a crap shoot though but what the hell, make sure you all enter the predict the pick competition on NFL.com we have almost 10 or so people in a private league from the MB the info about the name and password is in the thread named predict the pick.

Most Mocks I've seen having him going early to mid 2nd round so I'd say chances are >slim to <even he'll be there. If we get Jenkins at 15 I'll be good no matter what happens the rest of the way.

My greater than 70% chance prediction: if Jenkins, Ayers, or Raji are off the board, we will trade down and end up with an extra second.
My second prediction that has less than a 25% chance is that there is a draft day deal with Owen Daniels involved that gets us one or two more picks.

Depends on which mock you're looking at in a given moment. If not Coffee, maybe Goodson from A&M?
Honestly...probably rather look at a RB in the third and maybe find a sleeper safety in a later round.

1. Clay Matthews III, LB
2. Max Unger, C
3. Andre Brown, RB

6. Curtis Taylor, S

My ideal draft:
1/ Malcolm Jenkins (CB)-Dunta insurance
2/ Fili Moala (NT)
3/ Andre Brown (RB)-perfect for the ZBS
4/ Antoine Caldwell (C)-Mr. Consistency at Alabama
4/ Jason Williams (OLB)
5/ Henry Melton (DE)-perfect for our pass rush rotation
6/ Dan Gronkowski (TE)-all he has to do is block
7/ Tom Brandstater (QB)-i think of drafting QBs late as savings account, remember Drew Henson
But would not be upset with this:
1/ Cushing/Matthews (OLB)-take your pick, IDC
2/ Louis Delmas (FS)
3/ same
4/ same
4/ Henry Melton (DE)
5/ Sammie Lee Hill (NT)
6/ same
7/ same
1. Clay Matthews
2. Louis Delmas
3. Rashad Jennings
4. Antione Caldwell
4. Henry Melton
5. Patrick Turner
6. Vance Walker/Roy Miller
7. Jared Bronson

My Texans' mock draft guess on 4/23:
1 Beanie Wells - RB (Beanie is BAP on board on our turn)
-Short Yardage RB and then some.... Increases TOP when we build a lead and therefore makes our defense better
2 Connor Barwin - OLB/DE/TE (if we go RB instead of LB at 15, I think Barwin falls to us in the second cuz Matthews goes to New England.) (If Barwin is not there, I think we could go with Unger or Clint Sintim or even Jarron Gilbert. Remote chance that Matthews could even be here when we pick)
-DE on pass situations and SAM development project - Barwin starting at SAM by mid-season
3 Antoine Caldwell - C/G (Levitre if he is still there)
-Quality back-up, strong competition for starting job at either position, probably starts at RG by mid-season
4 Chip Vaughn (SS) or Darcel McBath or Sherrod Martin - FS
-quality back-up, competition for starting job
4 Bradley Fletcher or BA CB - CB
-development project but has potential to be shut-down corner, special teams guy
5 Henry Melton - DE
-quality back-up, development project, special teams guy
6 Quan Cosby - WR or the WR kid from Rice, could possibly go DT here
- slot receiver, quality back-up
7 Orion Martin - DE
-we have to find a DE that can add a pass rush opposite of Mario
Overall, our draft addresses our short yardage/lack of ball movement in red zone and should improve our pass rush. We build quality back-up in our defensive backfield with possibility we draft a stud or two that become(s) full-time starter(s) at some point.

Ok just to set some ground rules, I will post at 3 pm and any post after that will not be counted. I have seen some posts that have multiple mocks based on certain criteria. To be fair I will go with the first mock that is posted in that specific post. Any edited posts after 3:00pm will be disqualified (if you edit before 3:00pm that is perfectly ok).
