What kind of guy would I be if I didn't give Al Davis credit for the following pick:
1) Michael Mitchell at #47.
^Things that make you go "Huh?"
2) How about Denver trading up to #64 and taking UNC TE Richard Quinn? When Casey, Cook and Nelson are still on the board?
3) Buffalo at #11...and every team that followed...passing on DE Everette Brown.
4) David Veikune in the 2nd? What??
5) Eric Mangini ignoring that blowhole defense and taking 2 WRs
Did I leave anything out?

True, this was weird, but I suspect that there was something that the insiders know about the kid that the general public doesn't.

Pretty much the same thing that Denver did, but he did gain some draft picks with all the trade backs.
Did I leave anything out?
See remarks in the quoted area.

Mitchell was probably picked a lil high, but he is going to be good. You put him back there with Asomogowa(sp) and Huff you have a really good set of DB's. As far as Day 1 screw ups, I know the Jets needed a QB but did they give up to much for Sanchez? 3 players and 1st and 2nd rd picks?

Alittle????????????? He was projected to be an undrafted free agent, and Mel Kiper's 71st rated safety.

Scratching my head on the Raiders pick............. typical........ and also the Jets........... they had other needs they could of waited on a QB and see if there current QB (Clemens) can pan out. ive followed the Jets ever since the Oilers left town (didnt want to be a "TITANS" fan) and Clemens didnt get to fully start.

On the Opening Drive on Sirius Monday they said 3rd or 4th round. Said 7 or 8 teams were looking at him so I guess Davis wanted to make sure he got him...a reach for sure but i guess not knowing if one of the other interested teams were going to nab him....

Shame on you for calling Al a moron. You shouldn't say things like that about someone with alzheimers. Show some respect....and he happens to be a RICH moron that can ruin his team as he pleases. Don't be so hard on Al Davis for passing on Crabtree.....he said..."I forgot the young mans name and so I just closed my eyes and pointed...but it will work out".

Mitchell was the fastest safety in the draft. That's why Al took him. He's actually a very talented safety and it wouldn't surprise me if people are eating crow in a few years. Same with taking Bey over Crabtree, Al Davis likes speed.
I don't think the Jets gave up too much. If you look at the players they sent, they were all undrafted FA's.
