PLEASE!!! We don't need a backup to Slaton, we need one as good or better than Slaton. Also I am not stuck on us drafting a big slow back. I wouldn't mind another back like Slaton. We lose Slaton , we are done. Just my opinion

Well let me ask you this. Do you not like Slaton? You said as good or better, but if that's the case wouldn't it create a Tomlinson/Turner or Bradshaw/Ward situation? Over the course of 2 years one of them may want out. I don't want to lose Slaton until it's time... Like 5+ years AND OR retirement time.
Plus what's wrong with having "our mascot" as a RB? Hence my in interest in Gartrell Johnson. :-D

You don't think we need a big, slow back? Do you even watch the games? That's exactly what we need. We need a big, stout, Maurice Jones-Drew type of runner that we can plant in the Red Zone and shove the ball in. That's been a HUGE problem with this team.

Lots of great discussion here, but at the end of the day I think that Smith, Kubiak & Co. have made great strides in narrowing down the glaring holes in this team to one position - a running back.

Our offense was very good last year, but we have added a center and two tight ends, one of whom (Casey) is very versatile. I also believe that Dan Orlovsky will be a solid, dependable backup.

The defense has been bolstered by 5 picks, as promised before the draft.

I am in the camp that RBs can be found, although it is a little harder to find the "one-cut" type that we need. Nevertheless, I think that Smith and Kubiak will find their guy.

All of this has happened as the schedule plays in our favor. This is our year to have a winning season, and maybe win the division. I still worry about the Colts, but I think that we have the talent to beat the Jags and the Titans. You?

I want some of what this guy is smoking... Have you watched any film or the games of Dan Orlovsky last year at the Lions? The kid was terrible... Just wait till Matt goes down, and he will. He has every year so far...

Umm..I'm not "smoking" anything. You have to be able to look through a team with poor talent to identify the bright spots, and Orlovsky was just that on the pitiful Lions. Fortunately for us, Smith and Kubiak aren't depending on fans like you to do that for them. Oh, and Matt will play the full season in 2009. No problem.

i think we are bringing in selvin young as well. Slaton/Young/Foster. hopefully that will work. Broncos have Moreno, Buckhalter, JJ Arrington, Ryan Torain, Selvin Young, and Peyton Hillis. Obviously they will cut one or two. i would like anyone of those players.

the Broncos have 9 RB's on their roster now. most of which were decent and played last year. im sure the Texans are just waiting on one to be cut since the Broncos drafted Moreno. :D

I've seen Foster play at U Tenn. He has power and is elusive but he is not very fast. I think he just got lazy due to being on a Tennessee team that sucked. He might be hungry enough to bring his A game to camp. He can play on sundays if he is put in the right situation.
