I know I know, my bad for making another thread. But here I think is the reasoning for them picking the two TE's.
Owen Daniels is asking for huge amounts of money, we are trying to get him and Demeco to long term deals, along with Dunta. I see us getting (I've talked to John McClain in a interview and he agrees) Owen and Demeco to long term deals by the start of the season.
James Casey is to big of talent to pass up in the 5th round. I actually saw him as a back-up or replacement of Daniels if we traded him for a 1st and 3rd. He will be on the practice squad and be there for a year or untill Dressen is hurt or Owen is.
If we can't get Owen to a long term deal, he will be with us for a year, and we can trade him possibly mid way through the season for picks or a stud RB to compliment Steve Slaton. However, after freaking out, and thinking about it. This is a solid move and Owen shouldn't feel anything but thankfulness.
I could be wrong, but I hope I'm not. I like it now that I thought about it
