View Full Version : And you would have picked:

Here's the way I would have done it:

1. Cushing - This was exactly the pick I wanted, assuming Jenkins was gone.

2. Willie Moore - He was available and would have become a Day One starter.

3. I'm okay with Caldwell here.

4. Chip Vaughn - Surely we aren't taking Quin as a cover. He's too stiff. Vaughn is a better football player, plain and simple.

4. Lawrence Sidbury - If we were going to take an end to rush opposite Mario this kid was the pick. He had dropped like a rock (some people saw him very bottom of the first, top of the second) and he's bigger than Barwin. I think he can put on 10-15 pounds and be more than just a situational rush end. That and I think he's a better pro than Barwin and two rounds lower.

5. Lots of good choices here. I could have gone with Ingram the TE from Florida, or Javon Ringer, but my call would have been Duke Robinson. I think he was a way better value than the 5th round, and there was a time he was thought of as one of the best OL in the college game. He had a LOT of penalties his senior year and dropped like a rock but those are teachable problems. This kid could be a fixture given the right coaching.

6. Rashad Jennings - This guy is big and has great straight-away speed for a 235 pound back. He isn't shifty, but he can get plenty of YAC. He's a perfect compliment to Slaton. I would have been okay with Chris Ogbannaya from Texas also. I think he was totally misused and under-utilized at Texas and he's a much better athlete than he's given credit for being. He's a better receiver than Jennings also, so I'm good either way. I give the edge to Jennings based on production, even though it was a low low level.

7. Ricky-Jean Francois - This kid has the potential to dominate. He hasn't lived up to his potential, but he has shown flashes of brilliance. At this point everyone is a crap-shoot anyway, and he could end up anchoring the line or at the very least teaming with Okam to provide some quality depth.

So I would have ended up with three of the same players, but I would have traded the rest of our picks for Moore, Vaughn, Sidbury, Robinson and Francois.

I think my group is better.

What's yours?

Does it matter?

Anyway, I'll bite. Glover Quin too stiff? Hardly. He has some of the best closing speed I've ever seen in a CB.

I don't have issue with any of the picks. We GREATLY improved our secondary, after adding just Cushing and Barwin.

Troy Nolan is a ballhawking FS that we sorely needed. He's on YouTube. Check him out.

I don't see any of our draft picks getting cut or ending up on the PS this season.
