I know this is wishful thinking, since he is a Rookie & camp has not even started yet, But....

Does Casey have Shanahans gears turning on how he is going to use this vesatile player he has at his disposal.

You have a True Football player (in like a Bill Bates mold, that just loves this game) that is a Hard runner, has great hands (uses his hands & not his body to catch with), can play multple postitions, slot rec, TE or in 2 TE sets, FB & can throw the ball, not just short routes, but can put some Air underneath the ball. If Casey had not come out in the draft, he was slated to go back to Rice & be the Owls start QB. With the possibilities Shanahan has with this guy, lets hope he uses him to the best of his abilities....

Thoughts?....

I do agree the he is a special weapon & I am hoping that they can use him like he needs to be. I am not saying real gimmiky, but I would love to see him end up as the holder, just to always have that threat there. I would rather have someone like him w/good hands & the possibility of throwing it if need be... Really do not want to see Turk have to throw again... lol...Testing your memory, 70s Cowboys, Danny White (punter/ #2 QB) was the holder & he always made the other team think twice when ever he was back there.

I think if he is able to handle it, you will see Casey doing the long snapping instead of the holding.

I agree it would be exciting and open up some possibilities with him back there, but I think the extra roster spot gained by having Casey as the snapper will be more valuable in the long run. This can allow us to keep 3 quarterbacks instead of having to bring in some scrub in case of an injury.

I think he will be mainly a TE or slot WR. But, yes he can do things most TE's and slot WR's can't. And I am sure as the season goes on we will see some of that. Prob. not in this season as he is a rookie, but next...who knows.

I see a lot of TD's for him, not a lot of yards, but in the red zone he is gonna be golden. Hand it to him let him pound it in as a FB or toss it to him, 6'5. He will help Schuab a lot.

At 6-5 I could see him running across the middle of the endzone at the back and Schaub lofting a high one for him to jump up and grab.

I am pretty high on Casey too... but can we at least see him in a preseason game before we get all giddy about how many TDs he's going to score?

Well, we really are not known for the trick plays. I wouldn't mind seeing more stuff thrown in the play book, but not at the expense of turnovers. It better be some trick stuff more on the simple side where it goes for no gain or a ton with minimizing potential mistakes at a premium when designing plays to rookies who might not handle the rock frequemntly.

I'm not against seeing a little razzle dazzle but i hopw we don't over use it or it wont work when we need it.

If thats the case whats the point of making predictions of the season record before the season or any prediction on anything for that matter?

You would think that we would all want to see how or if he will even be in the offense this year, before we start drawing up plays for him much less counting his TD's. Please

Some of yall need to lighten up a little. "please" We are allowed to have fun on the board every now and then. Especially during the offseason.

I sort of look at Casey like TBow at Florida. He can do anything in any situation when called on. Like a utility player in baseball.

I feel when Casey comes out on the field during a game, look out-either a decoy or somethings coming down. The oposing D will be looking for anything to happen.

I can see them coming back from thier Bye week on Monday night against the Titans, pulling something out... If Kubiak paid attention under Reeves, I can see something in a razzle dazzle play after thier Bye when they have had a chance to really work on a play... & on Monday Night, what a stage for something along those lines.... 17 days & counting, hell I just wanna see some FootBall, training camp or not...
