Also, Mark Bruner happened to be speaking, and I got to talk to him afterward. Since he's a former Texans tight end, of course we had a lot in common. I'm trying to really stay in contact with him, because he's one resource I can really have that can help me out getting ready for training camp or if I ever have questions on things.

staying in touch with one of the more respected Tightends in football, also considered the best blocking TE, and learning as much as he can?
you don't see that as smart?

It is certainly wise and mature if it isn't "smart."

no i dont. doesnt common sense dictate that you will learn from your elders? What player doesnt try to learn from players who have been there before? I guess the entire nfl is smart, except chris johnson.
I don't want to get into a big fight or anything. I just see that comment a lot. Younger guys learning from the vets. It happens every day in every field of work and is hardly a criteria of determining brilliance. Graduating college is a little more of a statement of being smart than someone saying they will try to use vets as a learning tool. Thats just common sense.
But if you had mentioned he is a triple economics major who had a 3.84 grade average at rice i think your statement might have been backed up with more facts that yes he is a smart guy. And he has common sense.

Actually, I thought his grammer skills were a bit lacking for a Rice Grad. He SHOULD be wiser than his peers since he is our oldest rookie and has professional baseball expierence. Never the less, I did enjoy his blog and would usually not mention the above, but this threat begged for it. BTW I'm not a Rice Grad so dont judge MY grammer..lol

He is not runnning for public office, he's trying to make a football team so as long as he knows X's and O's I wouldn't care how much his grammer skills are lacking as you say.

If you are going to talk about how someone speaks you should know that it is grammar with an "a".
Like mentioned above I don't care how they speak as long as they get the job done on the field. Have you ever heard Earl Campbell's grammar?

& if he had gone back to Rice instead of entering the draft, he would have been or at least competeing for the starting QB position. Coach Bailiff could not say enough about this kid, sorry to see him go, but is glad he was picked up by the Texans & stated how special of a player he is going to be, for the orginzation as a whole.
I just wanna see him on the field & get down to some FootBall!!!

Yeah, I noticed that part where he said his teammates got "upset mad" at him. Wait... that was Chris Johnson. :p
