Be on the lookout for a new mailbag feature on HoustonTexans.com on Tuesday. The basic concept: you ask the questions, I give you my best answers. The mailbag will be an article on the site devoted solely to answering fan questions about the team.

If you have any questions for the first mailbag (or questions about the mailbag), please direct them to me via this thread for the time being. Within the next week or two, I'll have an e-mail system set up to field questions.

I previously mentioned this in the "Questions for Nick" thread, and I will answer a couple of questions that already have been posted there in my first mailbag. I'm going to temporarily close that thread and direct all questions here.

Thanks,
NS

Thanks a lot. If you have any questions about the team that you'd like me to address in tomorrow's mailbag, please post them here and I'll do my best to respond.

and one of them was expanding the running program from two days a week to three days a week (Tuesday-Thursday during the offseason workouts).

Wright also split the players into teams and had them race against each other, giving less running to the winners and more running to the losers. That competition, he said, broke up the monotony of the runs, especially when he let the players pick their own teams. Wright also changed several of the pre-existing runs and added sled and sand runs to the program.

Thanks Nick EXCELLENT response! that is very great to hear! (I/we look forward to doing this weekly) we should be very fast this year and be able to maintain more in the 4th imo

Thanks for the nice feedback. Happy to report on that; the players have been very receptive to his modifications to the strength and conditioning program. Let's hope those changes pay off.

As I mentioned, I'll be posting my entire conversation with Wright in a blog entry shortly, probably some time today.

I made a mistake about the franchise tender deadline - I apologize. Thanks to Alan Burge of the Houston Examiner for pointing that out to me.

I originally reported that there is no deadline for Dunta to sign the tender, but there is - Tuesday following Week 10, by 3 p.m. CT. I've revised the mailbag; please see the updated version for a proper explanation of the tender.

Thanks,
NS
