Unbelievable. From the Minneapolis Star Tribune:
Favre might even practice with the Vikings today and is expected to start in Friday's home preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

I would never EVER wish injury on any player but thinking about it, would it not be hilarious if we sack Farve on a play and he tweaks something? We make headlines at least. :p

I saw Favre in his prime for a pre-season game against the Saints a few years back. I could care less to see him on the field at 54!

And the record holder for most wins ever by a starting QB
History was made when the Green Bay Packers defeated the New York Giants last Sunday September 2007. With this victory — the 149th of Brett Favre’s career — Favre set the all-time record for wins by a starting NFL quarterback.
Players are generally taught that there is “no I in team” and we “win or lose together.” Still, in baseball every win and loss is credited to a specific pitcher. And it is a milestone when a pitcher “wins” 300 games in his career or “loses” 20 games in a single season.

Are you serious you want sombody to injure someone else even though he is abidding the NFL rules you have more class than that man, he hasn't broken a rule in all of his antics, maybe he has self esteem issues and walking away from football makes him nervous.

Technically they should have introduced it as a Texans Vikings thread then by definition it would have some merit

That is nonsense. Would you want someone telling you when to retire? If someone is willing to sign him, he has every right to sign on with that team. To say he is playing because he is self centered is rediculous. He isn't coming back to break any individual goals. He is coming back to win a super bowl which is a TEAM goal. He may be wishy washy but to say he is a jerk because he didn't make up his mind on if he wants to come back to the league in a way that you approve of is rediculous.

He just didn't want to go to training camp. Big deal. Hes a HOF QB, he doesn't need to be in TC. Yes i know its annoying with him changing his mind more than his underwear, but I have mad respect for the man. Glad to see him play at least 1 more season. Go Farve IMO! Just hope our dline owns him on the monday night game tho :p

Exactly. TBH if I was his age debating on whether to retire or not and my only option was the Lions I would stay retired. He doesnt have time to rebuild a team he wants to help a good team become great. Dude is a legend. If he wants to come back let him. I just dont think it needs to be on TV as much as it is.

And most TD's and most...blah..blah..blah. That's what happens when you play for close to 2 decades and you're on a team with a storied franchise history. I used to love watching Favre because he was exciting but after his performance last year (not bad, but certainly not great and just above good) I don't want to see it play out this year. While he's entitled to come back for however long he wants as long as a team will have him the sad fact is that this time next year the same crap will be playing 24/7 on the news. "Will Favre return?, Who will get him?"

And enough of the Favre and Vick threads, it's bad enough you can't even turn the radio or tv and not hear the man crushes from ***** reporters. Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh!!!

This guy is unbelievable. Maybe Jared Allen will put him in retirement for good.
No doubt. That dude scares me with that mullet. I read somewhere that Allen, Grigsby, and L. Fitzgerald went on some exotic trip around the world checking out wild animals and other crazy stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if Allen jumped out of a tree and stabbed a Lion with a hunting knife.
I have nothing but total respect for Favre, but he should have stayed retired when he retired from Green Bay. He would have been a football god and legend. Now he will someday end his career as a washed up Quaterback trying to relive days of glory.
On that note, he is still one of my favorite people of all time. I have seen him mowing and cutting brush on his land between Columbia and Hattiesburg, Mississippi and driving around on the land in a beat up old Jeep. He and McNair did a lot for the people in Mississippi after Katrina. I just wish he would hang up his spurs and go out in style.

I hope you said this without thinking about it. There is no reason for hate like this about another teams QB. It doesn't matter how old or anything he is or even if you are like me, tired of hearing news on him and Vick. But never hate on a HOF player because he wants to play again. I agree he may be too old, but I would never ever wish for him to be hurt. I am 54 and if someone offered me 10+ million to give it one last try, you can bet all of your bananas in the tree I would be there. At least we will get to see him play OUR team this year and this is more than likely his last year...
But the big question is, Can Favre save the Vikes? Personally, I don't think so. But we will see.
My prediction for the Texans vs Vikes - Texans 28 - Vikes 17 :D

well if nothing else the Vikes have a pretty solid set of QB's...
I think Brett wanted to play for the Vikes last year and it just didn't work out.
and they have a top tier RB. They're solid on offense.
I hear it now, that's my boy Favre!!! Now the Vikings fans who hated Favre with a passion before, will go out and buy that number 4 jersey. I would do the same if a pretty washed up Peyton Manning were signed by the Texans, who am I kidding, no I wouldn't.

He did that last 3 years with Green Bay, finally Green Bay got tired of it named Aaron Rodgers starter and told Brett deal with it. He proceeded to go from Jets to Vikings...am sure search will go on until EVERYONE says Brett go home

Brett...go home. You won't help the Vikings one bit. I'm sick of Farve.
The Jets didn't make the playoffs with you last year and neither will the Vikings with you this year. With a powerful run oriented ball control offense the last thing the Vikings need is an interception machine.
Brett..please go home! Drink your coco and read the sports section like a good ex football hero. Quit ruining your "legacy"

Just here to say that I have enjoyed watching favre play over the years. Cmon! give the man credit! He made the jets offense at least respectable! A feat not accomplished since Joe Namath. he is a first ballot Hall of Famer! Of course he is gonna be media worthy! He keeps reporters pens in hand just by coughing the word football. At this stage he is still a better QB than what is currently considered a viable qb in Minnesota. And hope that he has his carrear ended? thats not a great attitude. I wouldnt wish that on anyone. Imagine having the one thing you love most in the world taken from you! Thats what your saying! I wish Brett all the luck in the world! He is a true competitor! He was spurned by what Greenbays management did to him, now he has a chance to get even. The entire population of Greenbay has just collectivly *!@* their britches because of this signing!

I know a lot of you think "Super" Mario is the one to take Farve down, I disagree, here is why; the Vikings are changing some of their plays to fit him in some cases. I watched Farve a lot and he likes the rollout plays like the ones we have in our system which I think
Mike Sherman installed into the offense. The problem now is that Farve doesn't have the speed to out run defenders. So I think the first guy to get to him will be C. Barwin.
I would say Barwin will get 3 sacks that night.
He also has no ties to Rosncapter and will go after him the same way he goes after Farve.
Actually more HOPE than belief, we would love to see Mario cement his legacy by sacking some of the top QBs in NFL. But got to agree Barwin is going to be a wild card on passing downs, with 3 lineman occupying OL Connor breaks through

I definitely don't see him hurting the team...........
Sage is an OK QB- but there was a reason he was a backup for the majority of his career.
I'm not a fan of all the attention and back and forth this is getting- but Brett Favre should still be a Good QB...
