Texans linebacker Cato June was placed on injured reserve with a broken forearm and willl miss the entire season, the team said Friday.

This is just pure speculation on my part because of what June posted on twitter but it looks like June & the Texans could reach an injury settlement?
The train is leaving Houston.. But it won't stop!

If we didn't have DeMeco, Cushing, Diles, Adibi, and others I would be more worried about losing June. From the team's standpoint, it could have been a lot worse. From June's standpoint it really sux. People don't get to June's level without being competitors, and competitors do NOT like being spectators. It's rotten luck for Cato this year, but once he heals up he should still have several good years left ahead of him.

He only signed for one year, I think we've seen the last of him here.

You are correct. I think June's career as nearly at an end. It is hard for a 225lb. linebacker to stick around too long in the nfl. I hope I am wrong but I think his body has had enough.

You don't hear it with good teams.

Last year: The Patriots lost both Brady and Rodney Harrison to season ending injuries.
Last year: the Chargers played the majority of the season without Shawn Merriman.
So, yeah, it very much does happen across the board, even with good teams. And I'm only listing the major injuries for those teams, BTW. They have a nice list of injuries to other players as well, many of them more important to their system than you might think.
The difference, of course, is how you cover down for those who are out. Just like the Texans with Sage filling in for Schaub, the Patriots did pretty well with their backup in Cassell filling for Brady. The Chargers, OTOH, took a step back on defense but still managed to work around that to get things done when it mattered.
Injuries suck but the Texans have worked the last few seasons to improve the overall depth of the team, which I believe they have. That depth will have to step up now if this team is going to take the next step forward.

I think he means injuries happen with all teams. And they do, even on good teams.
I'm guessing you must be talking about using the injuries as an excuse for the team doing poorly?
I guess you can say yes. It prevents us from showing our true potential when the season starts.
I know it is the pre-season, but just sick of injuries happen every season from this team. I always had speculation that it was the Texas heat, but I don't know.

But the Patriots missed the playoffs by a hair and I believe the Chargers went to the playoffs.
when is it our turn?

A non playoff team and SD lost in round 2...
the super bowl teams were healthy...
use those as examples, not teams who did nothing last year.
