For some reason it bothers me when I see a post every time a player from another team is having issues or is released, and someone asks if we should go after them JUST BECAUSE. Yes; this is usually, but not always asked of a position we may be satisfactory in like WR.

I have to ask though... How do you feel about talking to the Browns for Derek Anderson? Tell them get their money's worth for their draft pick Quinn for the next 5-7+, bring him in and see who falls in place between #'s 2-4?

Maybe we can get Sage back for a fourth round pick? They seem happy with Farve.

But seriously...i'm ready to bring in some QB's

To do what? Start? I'm not ready to write this season off one week before it starts.
Dan-Os going to do fine in a back up position and Matt moved the team fine.
It's the defense you need to be concerned with.

DanO is new to our system, he needs more reps and then some more reps. You can see that he has a very strong arm and has alot of zip on the ball. He just needs more work with reading the defense. He has the intangibles, he just needs more time with the system.

Sage looked pretty bad last night in the one series he played actually.

for the 1st time i feel like MATT may never lead this team to anything. he has to be the most INJURY RIDDEN QB i have ever seen. i couldnt believe he was hopping around the field like he hurt something again.....if he doesnt do it this year i dont think he will be around much longer. No team wants a qb that gets hurt every single time he takes the field. i,m surprized he survived college:D.....whata puss to be our leader and be hurt every darn game. i am really sik of it......and i NO i am not alone.

I do find it a little scary, but the true story was when they showed him on the sideline getting taped up, and he looked just plain mad. So mad he went right back out on the field and drove the offense down the field. I think hes out to prove something this year, I just hope his body lets him.

Schaub will be fine. He got his yearly injury out of the way. As for leading the team to victory, are you kidding me? Schaub has what it takes to lead us to glory. Anybody with half a brain can see that. :)

Also I don't think we need to shop a QB unless it is to replace Grossman. Dan O has potential. He is still raw but by the end of the season he will be a solid backup.

it nevers ceases to amaze me how fickle Houston is. Dont read the chron right now, all the writers including McClain have written the team off, and all the fan comments show the bandwagon emptying out in full force. All these tears and the season hasnt even started yet. One of the fans even suggested we should bring Richard Smith back to coach the defense. Thats how delusional Houston is.

there was plenty of good things to see in that Viking game if people were actually paying attention. I guess everyone was delusional and thought they should rush for 500 yards and hold AP to -100 rushing.

I liked what I saw from Danny O with the 1st team offense. Aside from the blunder INT, dude has an arm and has zip on the ball. He is as raw as a fresh cut steak, but that is what Kubiak is known for as a QB coach. This kid may become a pretty servicable backup before long..

On that note, Anyone think Sage maybe going to NE before long? They cut their backup the other day....

The Viks paid too much for his contract to get rid of Sage now. They will let Jackson or Booty go.

I think we're fine just the way we are. Bringing in another QB isn't going to get us anywhere, just put us back a year while the new guy learns the system.

You want to know how much our fans suck. Look at the game again and see which fans holding signs in the front row. VIKING FANS. Hey dump A**es don't sell your freakin front seat tickets to opposing fans you morans.

Like any teams besides maybe the Packers Brokers own a good portion of Reliant and they sell to the highest bidder. I am OK with opposing fans they spice it up a little, had there not been a couple dozen Cowboy fans in my section in 2002 I would not have had as much fun that night.

Schaub will be fine Dan O missed on a few passes but rolled out of the pocket well keeping the play alive to develop.

I'm ok with opposing fans but not in the front row, we should be like the Saints where opposing fans are way up in the nose bleed section. Some of our fans know what I'm talking about. the only other team that sells their tickets in the front row on the 50 yard line to opposing fans are the Bengals. That's a company I wouldn't want to be lumped up with.

I don't think it's the team that sells the tickets in the front row to the opposing team's fans. It's our own fans.

you guys have to lower your expectations when it comes to the fanbase. Houston is too fickle of a town to have diehard loyalty, and the Oilers didnt give them alot of history to build that kind of fanbase. Hell even after the Rockets bought us some championships, the fanbase faded quickly in the years to follow.

Don;t forget that he smashed his helmet on the ground too. You could tell he was pissed and I think he is on a mission to prove the negative fans wrong about him being injury prone. Mark my words, I still think he plays 16 games this season!

As far as Derek Anderson... I have diehard family from the Cleveland area and so I keep track of the Browns to see how they are doing so I can chat with them about their team. Derek Anderson was, in my opinion, a gunslinger. He succeeded at making long bomb passes to Braylon Edwards and it made him look good due to the stats he gained from that. Derek Anderson does not make reads and cannot think on his feet. Dan O has MUCH more to offer our team and has the physical tools to be THE QB that leads us into the playoffs if Schaub cannot prove his health.

Derek Anderson would look like Rex Grossman did when he was trying to chunk the ball down the field. Once defenses learned that the Browns were only a long ball threat they worked to contain that threat and Anderson became a pedestrian QB. Thus the reason the Browns are in a QB controversy now.

No I got row 5 for the chief texans game for $10 bucks. I think many people just don't care about the preseason but they have to buy the tickets so they eBay them to make up a little bit of the cost.

Hey hey the gangs all here! You all must be season ticket holders, or at least were at the game? I saw no activity for a good minute. Too bad I'm out of state.

Anyway. I just wanted to make sure you know by reading the thread that I didn't say Schaub's replacement. I meant having another backup for position battle if he's going to have a nagging or re-occurring injury. As mentioned in another thread, I also wish someone was in the "system tray" with some good mobility like Pat White :-D (scratched record on the reunion talk I know...).

Thats what i said too and everyone freaked out. Nothing wrong with bringing in more QB's to evaluate for backup. Dan is not ready mentally to take over the reigns if needed. He has the physical abilities and just needs more time. But we are upon the season now and need to find a viable back up just in case. There is no harm in bringing in some more QB's to take a look at, before we get going.
