...we ain't gettin it.

From Cris Carter calling us the "Houston Titans" to this NFL nobody Jason la Cantora or whatever his name is...

Nothing more than a quick mention of Favre's cheap shot in the national media.

Even (some of) our own "fans" badmouth us every chance they get.

Dwell on and focus on the negative, while conveniently overlooking the positive.

Could anyone help but notice that the cameras seemed to find all of the Favre fans in the stands? The ones holding signs showing their homosexual man lust for Brett Favre? Why didn't they show the ones with the signs saying "Kick Favre in the nuts"?

Even the NFL shows bias against us and for other teams. Want an example? The phantom roughing the passer call comes to mind. And let's see what kind of fine gets handed down to the golden boy for his stellar display of good sportsmanship.

Yeah yeah.. I know... we aren't going to get respect until we start winning, but isn't that the definition of a true bandwagoner? I'm to the point right now that I don't even want the bad fans or the national media to like us ever.

When we win... F Off. I don't want you on this bandwagon. Just sit there and wait for the wheel to fall off so you can B**** about it.

When we start winning all these same people will be singing praises and telling us how they're lifelong fans and be the first to criticize if we lose, saying "I told you so".

I hate you. We know who you are. When you're in the press or on message boards, your messages are here forever. Don't think you're gonna get away with it either.

But something tells me, that the biggest critics and naysayers of all, will simply abandon their bashing names and make new ones for praising while we win, and bring their true identities out of the woodwork when bashing time comes. At least most of the press can't do that, the ones that don't hide under psyedonyms.

You can't change the world.

So why let the world change you?

I have to wonder....

How much mention it would have gotten if it would have been the other way around... if someone went for favre's knees?

That player would claim the "dirty player" tag or that was a dirty play. And also to go along with your mention of Cris Carter calling us the Houston Titans, I heard but didnt hear because I didnt listen to the 4 letter network, on SR that Jon Gruden also called us the Tennessee or Houston Oilers or something along those lines? Anyone hear that or can confirm that? What a shame..

I have to agree with this post and the responses posted. Ive had season tickets since day one and every single game i have to sit next to the visitors fans bc the psl holder next to me doesnt go to the games and sells them on ebay each week it truly is frustrating. Not to mention im on the visitors side. Anyway there was a vikings fan last night that was way out of control all the Texans were yelling at him i really felt a sense of comraderie with our fans last night. anyway long story short the minn fan got ejected argued with the cops and then got arrested everyone was very happy. These other fans really make me mad they come to our house and start acting very disrespectful in our house it starts some fights but I guess thats all part of the game. Good job to the HPD that guy was about to get hurt.

...we ain't gettin it.

Don't beat yourself up. Had this been the Superbowl and we won all they could talk about would be if Farve was coming back next year.

Who cares. We are the Texans...we don't need no stinkin respect!

Well, this coming week, brace for all the Vic talk. He is going to play a whole half, they are already talking about it. ESPN's talking heads are getting their knee pads on already.

Ahhhhh ****! Will have to skip that game.

Ya'll knew that's all they were going to talk about....it was a pre season game for cryin out loud...outside of Houston and Minnesota what's the draw to this game?!? You act as if you're surprised. Ain't no one going to remember this preseason game in October, I don't care who we played. It's a glorified scrimmage.

Personally, I enjoyed the game. Thought the defense toughened up and the offense looked good against one of the better defenses. And Schaub looked like he was on a mission to shut up the nay-sayers about his toughness. Don't really care what the score was, but more important was that we looked better than we did against N.O.

I definitely agree with you on the Defense. Demeco was a total beast last night and it showed that he deserves an extension. Dude was all over the field and there was a tackle he made that even made me cringe from my sofa. I can't wait to see what Frank has in store for us come regular season. And in a way I'm happy to say that I felt sorry for the D last night because they performed much better than the offense. I'm hoping come regular season that both sides of the ball gel together so we can win some lop sided games.

I don't post much.
BUT it's preseason and people were saying must win.
Yes, we got no respect for the network. But I'm more concerned about the people on this board. If your a fan of the TEXANS, then be a fan. Go ahead and be mad that we didn't do as well as we all hoped. The TEXANS did do some good thing. Aren't the coaches going to watch the film with the player and hold the accountable for there plays. So why are some people getting angry and only pointing out the bad stuff. Fans take the bad with the good. It's okay to be mad but get over it. It seem like we did nothing right last night.
What about McCain's big hit or D. Ryans being all over the field and lets not forget Super Mario's sack of Farve.
P.S. sorry for the long post.
