I say Big Frank Okam is the guy. This guy and Barwin seem to be around the QB and the ball a lot.

Dare I say.......Jeff Zgonina.

Cody, Okam, Robinson, Zgonina and Okoye are going to be your DTs for this year...

Smith wil be in that rotaion on 3rd downs and if Barwin develops maybe more than that.

No way man, Okam has been 2 inconsistent. Last night I think Cody made an argument to be the starter. Okams got the size and strength, but the dude hasn't put it to good use yet. Until he shows up on a consistent basis I don't think he should start.

Cody, Robinson and Okam were ahead of TJ. The starters will most likely be Okoye and Cody. They played well together last night.

DT Cody//Robinson Okam was nothing exciting last night

I wonder if they won't try to rotate them so that we normally have a finesse player (Cody/Amobe) for rushing with a bulky player (Okam/Deljuan) for run stopping.

I think it becomes more likely the team looks at both CB/S and DT with the first two picks of next year's draft. That said, if we can get more of the Amobi that we saw last night with his backfield penetration and down the line pursuit, that gives me a lot more optimism about the future.

I'm a bit disappointed that big Frank hasn't had as much of an impact the last two weeks but the good news is that he'll likely get a ton of snaps on Friday to gauge where he really is.

In my mind, these two guys are our best current prospects inside because of their youth. Even though Amobi is in year 3, he isn't even 22 yet. Frank's not had enough snaps on the field to even call him a year #2 guy, so I'm still holding out some hope for ever further development.

Shaun Cody has been a pleasant surprise, though, so maybe he and Robinson can provide reasonable depth at a shaky position.

I think the starter is Cody and Robinson will be the backup. Okam has started to show up to the games, but he hasn't been consistent yet. But a rotation of Cody, Robinson, and Okam is the way the Texans are going.

I know that Smith is supposed to jump in on 3rd downs, but he's supposed to be a DE first.

Okam looks good, but he had a sure sack on Brett Favre and let him slip right through. It happens to the best of them, but I still like DelJuan Robinson. Nevertheless, Okam has the size we desperately need up there.

because of his size i think Okam has to be our dt with okoye. If he isn't we will have the smallest dt's in th eleague going against 1200 pounds of line. We are forced to use Okam as he is bigger. Just my opinion.

I agree. Unfortunately. I was hoping that one of the UDFAs was going to make an impact (Josh Leonard in particular I've liked the look of) but Zgonina looked pretty good out there and I suspect if it was a close run thing he'd get in on the basis of needing some veteran leadership at the position.

So unless Leonard does something spectacular on Friday, I think that list up above is our DT stable.

Oh - and I reckon Cody starts at Nose. Either him or Deljuan. I think people forget how big Robinson is sometimes, BTW. The guy's listed at 6'3", 320lbs. That's plenty big enough to play NT.

I expect Cody to be the starter week 1 with a healthy rotation of Robinson and Okam. If Robinson brings that motor he had last season, I could see him pushing Cody by mid season. Who starts will hardly matter anyway as that position will be a full rotation.

320? Thats hard to believe. But i guess i have to believe it since thats how he is listed.
