couple places where Im not sure I agree with John is on the defense. Like he has us carrying 5 DTs. Im really not sure I see the reason for the 5th. Then he has us carrying 6 CBs but only 3 safeties. I would think we would carry 4 safeties.

Thanks for the link. I didn't realize it was a photo gallery, since it obviously wasn't that format in the newspaper. He mostly makes sense, I think. I guess guys like Boomer Grigsby are already written off.

Grigsby was cut a while ago.

I think Buster Davis makes it over Chaun Thompson. I'm also leaning towards Josh Leonard over Jeff Zgonina.
McClain needs to be more definitive with his picks. He lists EVERY player not Secure as 'On the Bubble.' Go ahead and list which players you believe will be cut. None of this Wishy Washy BS! You gotta bring it!!

I don't think JJ will make it.... he has been outplayed by Martinez. It seems like he is always around the ball, blocking down field or something.. and he is pretty active on ST. JJ returns punts, and everyone holds their breath... and I think has slipped below Anderson at WR. So, this is why I think JJ is gone. Hall, seems more like TC guy than anything, and I would like to see them keep Foster on the active roster, but I think they would drop him if someone is cut whom they have been keeping an eye on. I don't know about Grossman or Brink, will have to see the game tonight, Rex wasn't in but like three plays in game one....

4 TEs???
What, didn't we have 4 TEs last year? It is just that Bruener didn't actually "play" so much as he was a player coach and representative for the team.

casey is also our backup FB

Kubiak MAY decide to go with 6 WRs after all, and keep both Martinez and Jones. Anthony Hill may be cut in favor of Daniels, Casey and Dreessen....leaving us with only 3 TEs.

Well, tonight concludes the preseason. JJ took punts, returned kicks, and
caught passes. How many times did he fumble?? That's right. ZERO.
Pre-camp, he was told to step his game up at receiver, continue to perform
in the return game, and DO NOT turn the ball over. JJ's reached EVERY goal.
Martinez does not have the homerun power as a receiver that JJ has, and that
is what edges him out as the 5th receiver.
If David Anderson were on the bubble, then he'd have a better shot at the
team, but since D.A. has the Zebra (slot receiver) spot sewn up, the only
thing Martinez is catching is an apple and a roadmap.

I agree with him for the most part, with a few differences and without listing every single player to be cut as 'on the bubble'. Here's what my 53 man roster looks like:
QB (3) - Schaub, Orlovsky, Grossman
RB (3) - Slaton, Moats, Brown
WR (5) - Johnson, Walter, Davis, Anderson, Jones
TE (4) - Daniels, Dreesen, Casey, Hill
OG/C (6) - Pitts, Brisiel, Myers, Studdard, Caldwell, White
OT (3) - Winston, Brown, Butler
FB (1) - Leach
=======================
DE (5) - Smith, Williams, Barwin, Nading, Bulman
DT (5) - Cody, Okoye, Robinson, Okam, Zgonina
LB (6) - Diles, Ryans, Cushing, Bentley, Adibi, Davis
CB (6) - Robinson, Reeves, Molden, Bennett, McCain, Quin
S (4) - Wilson, Barber, Ferguson, Busing
========================
ST (2) - Brown, Turk
========================
PRACTICE SQUAD:
-----------------
Jamison (DE)
Martinez (WR)
Jenkins (WR)
Leonard (DT)
Campbell (LB)
Foster (RB)
Wasburn (OT)
Harrison (S)

no way they cut a 4th round draft pick.

no way they cut a 4th round draft pick.
I'm not saying it's bound to happen, but it's possible it could. He hasn't done anything this preseason of note.
The Bears have already notified their 5th Round pick they're cutting him. I'm just saying he's not guaranteed a spot JUST because of where he was drafted.
Now, Kubiak DID say that Hill would have to become more impactful on Special Teams if he wanted to really help this season.

I think the only time Hill was talked about was on the board, and last night after his third screw up. He is so under impressive, he was called HALL by our wonderful announcers.
Look...value to the team is clearly Casey over Hill. I do not think Martinez is PS eligible, so at best, Hill makes PS and Casey ends up being the bomb!
Grossman IMO made the team and Brink is gone (unless we trade Grossman for a 4-5 pick for next year after week 1).
PRACTICE SQUAD:

Jamison (DE)
Martinez (WR)
Jenkins (WR)
Leonard (DT)
Campbell (LB)

Wasburn (OT)
Harrison (S)
I don't think Martinez and Harrison are eligible for the Practice Squad.

with all the competition this year I worry about our guys clearing waivers, especially Foster, Jamison and Jenkins. It's a good spot to be in though. I just don't wanna lose out on the talent we have this year. I have visions of Ryan Lilja, ouch!

I wonder....if Minn were to cut Sage, would we show an interest in bringing him back? I mean they're loaded at QB especially with Favre joining the mix, they can't keep all of them. I'd take Sage over either of the 2 backups we have now. Stranger things have happened.

Martinez is a 4th year guy.. maybe this is his 5th season, anyway Tillman mentioned during the game he ws NOT eleigible for the PS. Too bad, he is fun to watch, and JJ had to have a big game, and did. I dont know if Kub is going to look into the past (last season JJ) to help decide or what.

Listening to the Dallas Minn game it seems that the Vikes will cut either Johnson or Booty. Both are scheduled to make about the same amount but the team has perhaps overinvested in Sage and are hopeing for a better return on the investment than they would get right now.
That being the case I would cut Booty as Johnson has outplayed both Sage and Booty.
