Pick the winner... who do you think will win this game?
Pittsburgh, but I still think Tennessee is going to be tough this season even without Albert Butterworth/Haynesworth. Jeff Fisher knows how to get the most out of his players. I guess in most cases, excluding Vince Young.

I would say Pitts but I won't say it's a gimmie. Hopefully it will be close with Pitts for the Win. Football is here, I feel so giddy with joy.

Tennessee 31 Pittsburg 14.
A little shake & bake. A little smash & dash...... too much for the SuperBowl Champs.
This is going to be a really good game. I'm rooting for the men in black, but I'm not counting the inbread meatballs out.

The Titans want this game so bad, they are talking about not getting any respect. The think if they win this game the media wil notice. They were also saying that they had the best record in the NFL and they still didn't get any love. They forgot that they got pounded by the Steelers and the ravens on their own turf.
Gp Steelers!!, but only for tonight.
This is so true. Yes the Titans are motivated and want this game badly but the towel will destroy all hopes the Titans have

The Titans beat the Steelers 31-14 last year. The Ravens only beat them by 3 so don't know if I'd call that getting pounded or not.

Well, that was certainly a great way to start off the season. If not for a rare Bironas miss or a mistake from Hines Ward, either team could have taken it. At the moment I'm not looking forward to our first meeting against Tenn, let's hope Sunday changes that.

I thought the Flaming Tacks looked horrible out there. They had a few solid plays, but for the most part they were playing like something was supposed to be handed to them. The secondary was getting ripped apart by Big Ben and the amazing "4 man rush" that they always had was totally neutralized by the sub par Steelers )-line.
I will not count the Tacks out, but I am certainly not scared to face them by any means. We have the chance to put the Tacks in a 0-2 hole right out of the gates!

People always dis Ben Rothlisberger.... I've never viewed him as bad as what people say. Tonight's game I think was an eye opener. He sees the whole field, and has the arm to get the ball anywhere on the field. He keeps plays alive... getting sacked 4 times a game can't continue, but he made some huge plays.

C'mon man, they lost to the SB champs by 3 in OT....If someone who didn't know any better was reading your post they might have thought it was a 34-3 loss.
It would be sweet to put them down 0-2 but we need to take care of business first on Sunday!

He got some help when the Titans bit on the pump fake all night long.
Hell of a game last night. The thing that stood out for me was the defense for both teams especially the defensive lines for each team. I know last night was for REAL and I only have preseason games for the Texans to compare, but if you compare either teams d line to the Texans it is day and night. I think that is what Pros are supposed to look like. I know some of it is our talent level. I know I was looking at 2 of the the best d lines , but still. I don't remember their line running themselves out of the play like we seemed to do every other play in the preseason. I know our philosphy has changed but after watching the preseason I hope we don't become easy prey to the screen pass and plays that capitalize on our new agressive approach, close the eyes and rush the passer. I know that is not really our scheme but it sure looked like that to me this preseason. Maybe our players just don't recognize/read/feel what the offense is trying to do to them, I don't know. Also I hope we do not run on 1st, and 2nd, then have 3rd and long and then guess what ,try to pass. Sorry just venting about a nightmare I had last night. thanks

well even solid defensive lines like those two teams have issues. If you noticed they pulled Casey Hampton out for a while because he was getting blown up at the line and replaced him with I think Hoke. Depth is so important. I thought the TN d line played well and they are aggressive. Was helped alot by the fact that Big Ben tries to hold on to the ball for like 10 mins. Matt needs to take that as an example to always get the ball out quickly. Hes not as lucky on his feet as Ben.

Not to overlook Sunday's game vs the Jets, but can and will our offense take advantage and learn from what Pittsburgh did without a running game? I only heard Parker's name once or twice. I think our offensive weapons are better than Pitts, let's see what our defense looks like. If we could even look like Pitts D, that would be nice. The Titans could have had more points had their kicker not been missing field goals.

Here is my two cents. Its early in the season. The offenses have no real game tape to gameplan for a defense. The offense is still a little rusty on timing and blocking in some cases. A talented defense with very little scheme can be dominating early in the season. After this week there will be a little more to for offenses to go on regarding gameplan. I think it would be best to wait a couple weeks before saying any particular defense is great.

The **** defense is solid but I have to believe that Schaub & Co. will do a lot better than the Steelers. Big Ben had 363 yards in the air. If he can do it, Schaub can do it. Hopefully with more TDs. I don't think they will hold us to under 50 yards rushing either. We have Brown this year.
Our defense is still an unknown. The Tacks are gonna score on us but there offense didn't look all that impressive to me. I don't think it was all Steeler defense either.
It's going to be a higher scoring game for sure. Lets just hope we can get it done on offense and at least slow them down some on defense. We will have a better feel after Sunday vs the Jets who have a legit running game and a solid defense.

Just remember all the Titans only gave up 100 yards or more to two running backs last year Steve Slaton and a STEVE SLATON!!!!!!!

All i know or care about it is that the Tacks are 0-1. And if we play the way we truly can we will have a 2 game lead over the Tacks after week 2. This year is going to be interesting for sure.

i see very little chance of Houston beingin the Titans league. Next week Mouton and Cook ar eback so TN will carve Houston up.
And the D is awfully nasty............Schaub could not take what Ben did last night and everyone of you know it. You never want a nasty D after a testy loss.
Enjoy your bye week against the Jets.

Yeah yeah yeah, Rothlesburger a career like 200-220 yardage guy goes for 360, you guys bit the pump fake like you never seen one. Like I said earlier, if Slaton gets 50 yards and Schaub gets 400 what the difference we stil win, remember that two RB's put 100 on the Titans last year Steve Slaton and STEVE SLATON
Smash and Dash had what 90 yards last night Every Coaches Dream........ two good runs and like a dozen for a yard

If it takes your D-line roughly 7 or 8 seconds to get to the QB, then Schaub shouldn't have a problem. He'll get the ball out far quicker than Ben did bc Ben was checking his progressions twice before the Dline could get to him....except for when Kearse I believe just came free and blasted him.

You better hope Cook comes back as Scaife will be out for a few weeks or more (speculating but he won't play next week) A rookie TE will be fun to play with, you should try to have a Probowl TE like us, much nicer.....

You do realize that the Steelers have a great defense right? I guess when Slaton has a bad game which is inevitable because all RBs do then you will be wanting to trade him because he is obviously a bust right?

No just Johnson. My philosophy is that if you trade him now while people like you think he is still good, you can get some value back, whereas if you wait 5-6 games to trade him, no one will want him.
I'm convinced he will be rb2 once White gets the looks. White has a better head on his shoulders and johnson has ...well...entitlement issues. If you have Johnson on your fantasy team, just prepare for the worst by getting some viable backups now.
I could be wrong. I don't know for sure what the future holds. It's just a gut feeling and a knowledge of past footballers who looked good their first year, only to expect that same production the next. Slaton, worked all off season on his game. He came in bulkier and ready. Johnson came in wanting to know what he should do for his touchdown dance. Guess what. He didn't get in the end zone.
But the bottom line is that no one has to heed my advice. Keep Johnson on your roster and suffer the year with him. Thats fine with me. I had a guy wanting LT from me and he offers me Ward and Beanie. I told him to put Fitzgerald int he mix or no trade is even possible. So he counter offers with Tedd Ginn JR for LT. I rejected his offer and explained that i have 5 WR's ranked higher than Tedd Ginn on my team right now. So i offered him LT for Fitzgerald and Warner. He didn't like that so he starts Parker week one bercause he has no RB's. Guess how many points Parker got? ONE!
I'm just saying that once a rb proves he sucks...you won't get anything for him...like Parker. Like Johnson. Trade him now while people still believe the hype...you could get a Brandon Jacobs or better for him.

Sorry, misread your post. I thought you were saying something along the lines of TN should get rid of Johnson which we know is not going to happen. Didn't read the post you quoted. I don't play fantasy football.
I don't know how much you follow the Titans but I assume since you are a Texans fan that you don't keep up with them near as much as I do like I am sure you could tell me all kinds of things about the Texans that i don't know but Johnson has not been sitting on his rear on Ustream all offseason.
I have watched a few of his streams and I agree he doesn't put himself in a very flattering light but he has been working very hard this offseason. He went back down to Florida to work out with Tom Shaw who is supposed to be the best speed and conditioning trainer in the league, worked with the last 9 SB MVPs, 118 1st rd. picks and 8 #1 picks. CJ did add muscle this year. IIRC he added on about 10lbs but didn't want to lose speed so he went back to Shaw.
Heimerdinger(OC) has said they have been adding in tons of new wrinkles for him in the offense so I assume he has had his plate full. He was one of the many Titan players that showed up all offseason long before non mandatory workouts and OTAs so I am not worried at all about his determination.
I don't know the guy so I can't say first hand but everything I have read has alluded to the fact that the guy has been working very hard to be the best. That is his goal. He is cocky but I don't mind that in a player as long as he backs it up.
Obviously you are entitled to your opinion and judging CJ from the preseason your opinion has a leg to stand on but I don't believe this guy forgot how to play football during the offseason. Like him or not you have to admit the guy has loads of talent.
I prefer the player to toss the ball to the ref and do the usual celebration with his teammates but was long as it doesn't hurt the team then I am fine with TD dances. I think some people are forgetting that he was going up against the #1 defense in the league that was keying on his every move the other night and he only got 15 touches. I see MJD, Slaton and CJ battling it out for Pro Bowl spots for many years to come. Good luck against the Jets.

Well, all there is now is to wait and see who is right. Ha! I'd wish you luck but since you are a titan fan. it's against my religion.
Ringer has looked pretty good and so has Britt. It seems your weakness this year is pass rush and no recievers or QB. Gage had a few drops in the Steeler game. But came out with a nice game. Oh and Bironas. He might need to get back on track too. Right now you guys are pretty much a run offense. Teams will play you that way. Maybe Britt can open things up for you guys once he gets settled. No ones over looking you guys this year so it isn't going to be as easy as last year to rack up the wins before anyone noticed. Shutting down CJ is going to be the focus for every defense you face, which is another reason why i think he will post some bad numbers. You can only hide talent one year. After that , everyone knows who you are.

If the titans had a true pocket pass to take over for Collins, Britt would have a huge future ahead of him. Sadly for him, if Bud Adams sticks with Vince, Britt will never reach his potential in this league. Its a shame because hes a very good receiver.

Flametacks D looked bad in crunchtime. Ben had all day to throw and made the plays to avoid sacks when he needed to.
And yes, he pump faked them so much the grounds crew had to pick jocks up off the field for 30 minutes after the game.
The ending was closer than it should have been. Ward doesn't fumble 99% of the time so that OT was a fluke. Then again, 2 missed FGs doesn't always happen either.
The Steelers have a pretty tough defense and the Titans had their moments against them. Our Defense needs to step up and play better to keep them down. Hopefully Collins will catch a cold or something and VY can un-*** the bench give us an interception/sackfest to enjoy. I'd love to see Mario crunch his head into the turf.
It's always nice when a division mate loses.
3 way tie for 1st, and we're in it.
Titans... last place... get used to it, there's more to come.
I think your getting it handed to you by a rookie QB...WE took the SB champs to OT and should have won it..But what do I know
