WOW!!!! I am impressed with the way he started sniffing out the screen plays. I think between he demeco and mario.....we really have something to work with. if we could trade dunta for some picks so that we can get some more dbs next year i think we can really do something. I had my doubts about schaub last week but he played with a dirrernt confidence this week...it helped that we passed to set up the run early....the jets defense is pretty dam good. Now lets carry this good playing to next week....they got punched in the mouth a couple times and kept on going.

I'm definitely digging his intensity when playing the position as well. And that feeds off to other players as well. Did you see when Cushing pulled down Johnson in the backfield on that 3rd down draw play? Ryans and him were like the spartans from "300."

I love the intensity BC brings but he had too many plays he didn't know his assignment. Not as many as during the Jets game but at least he went 100%.
go Cush!!!

I saw that but the way I see it, there are two legit reasons:
1) He didn't play the pre-season and we have seen rookies come along a little slower when they don't play it.
2) Just being a rookie, it will happen. I can't wait until later this year even when he starts to shine more and more. I'm still waiting for a huge hit from him on a tight end or a WR coming over the middle.

sorry to burst your bubble, but Dunta isn't tradeable... and i dont think there's a GM thats dumb enough to do so...
I still have confidence in Al Davis!

How can you not love his intensity?
TEXANS LB BRIAN CUSHING
(on what he brings to the game)
I am a guy that will give you four quarters and will be running to the ball. I know that running back on the other side is going to get tired of me tackling him and I know the offensive line is going to get tired of blocking me. I am a non-stop guy. I am a guy that brings that intensity.
(on the game)
It is a conference game. These are two teams that don’t really like each other too much. Overall, we were able to get by at the end. We are pretty happy right now, but I don’t know about them. It was a very hostile environment out there and we know we had to match their intensity.
(on playing in this type of environment)
I love this kind of environment. I love getting booed. I actually like getting booed better than being at home and being cheered. It just makes you feel like you need to stick together as a unit. I think the team gets closer. You have to fight and you have your backs against each other.

Favorite defensive play of the day by far!!! The D was out for blood and fighting like warriors! So much fun to watch!

I go back to that week one play where Cushing catches the defender after one of our guys knocked the Jets guy into the air. He CAUGHT him and dropped him on the ground. That's not a tackle, that's a body slam. And that's a BEAST.
It was BC and Busing on one of the Titan's bigger plays that sprung Crumpler. It was a miscue where BC was coming in hard, and Busing didn't cover the other side BC was coming from.
But yeah...BC...phew. Just B.C.

Brian Crushing and John Beasting are great players in my opinion! (I realize I spelled them wrong)

if you're referring to the play on special teams... it was Kevin Bentley #57 who did the body slamming
He is talking about the body slam in the Jets game where Cushing caught the airborn jet player and threw him to the field on the one yard line just short of the endzone.

No it was at the goal line last game and Cushing completely stopped his momentum, it was awesome.
Did yall see the play where Cushing threw the Titans player and Eugene Wilson who was hanging on to him onto the ground?
How strong is that guy??

He's a good Special Teams player, but we need to put McCain at corner, he has the speed to get it done.

Cushing is fast!!!!
Looks as fast and maybe faster than the WLB. That's very unusual for a SLB.

I dont know if its just me but he reminds me of Romanowski when that guy use to play, a real intimidating presence and brings a really aggressive attitude to the defense. I am really happy with this guy he is going to be a great if he keeps it up.

I also liked what i saw out of Cushing today and he was having some nice coverage plays too. I'm beginning to wonder about all the scouting reports that said he couldn't cover.

He's really been as advertised so far. I didn't know what to expect since we didn't see anything of him in the preseason, but he's played very well the last 2 games. Fast, physical, and like another poster said, his coverage skills aren't too bad. He's exactly what the Texans need.

ya missed it cause he fought off a block and pretty much delivered a spear to Johnson.

I'm curious to see how he does against Dallas Clark. Diles did the best at covering him I thought out of our group.

Busing, i think was head on w/ Alge to meet him straight on... Cushing came in way too hott on alge and alge was able to side step Cushing. It was Cushing's job to keep him contained and either funnel him towards Busing or push him out of bounds...
Just nit-picking there, Cushing had an overall good game
It was in the Jets game where Leon Washington was trying to jump into the endzone and Cushing caught him in mid-air....and tossed him to the ground

I like the Romanowski comparison. He was out there to hurt people and embarrass them and I think thats exactly what is going through cushings mind. He is an intimidator.
I cant believe no one has mentioned it yet, but did anyone notice Cushing pumping up our own guys in between plays? Did anyone see the head butt he gave Ryans? It was awesome. It was like watching Remember the Titans or something. He was in there roughing up our guys in between plays, keeping them on their toes. It screams LEADER LEADER! Thank God.

I think we need to nickname BC " Bam Bam". The kid is an absolute beast and like said earlier only going to get better. I truly believe that we have one of the best LB trio's in the leauge. They can all cover sideline to sidelina and are all sure tacklers.

On 3rd and long Cushing came out but as he gets better it will be hard to have him come off (hopefully). About Dallas Clark-Miami used mostly LBs and that was a disaster. They doubled up on Wayne (who was mostly quiet) Manning gets time and has a good read/release so Clark was pulling away from LB for BIG gains...we don't need that. Having said that I don't know the solution except that our 4man front has to get pressure without the need to blitz too much

I think they maybe limiting Cush's snaps still. Better safe then sorry. Hope to see more hard hitting from Cush and the LB this week. Stop MJD and blitz all game.

I'm ready to see how he handles MJD. Cush seems like he loves a challenge and steps up for it. It should be fun!! I think our LBs are going to be dominant for years to come!!
I don't remember which player it was, but did you guys see the suplex our special teams player on special teams gave to that Titan last week. I'll have to watch the game again. Now that's something I could see Cushing doing.
