Yeah, ironically he kind of tripped up Jacoby on a return where it really looked like he was about to go the distance.
As for Casey in the game on the offense, he is still pretty far down in the depth chart. Leach played so he didn't get the starters number of reps at FB. Also Dressen and Daniels showed why they are our top two TEs last game.

I don't know why they don't let him play. They could use him like the Cowboys use Martellus Bennett. Play him on the outside to create mismatches, or in 2 TE sets. Dressen played well in our 2TE sets, but I would like to see Casey in the mix.

what about Barwin? i dont think i saw him make a tackle all game. did he play?
I think I remember reading about a false start from him before the 2nd quarter ended helping to prolong the Titan's drive for the FG to tie.

I thought I saw him make a tackle a special teams.....he came flying in and hit the guy around his feet...then another Texan hit him in upper body.....

Casey was the one who initially made contact during the Kevin Bentley "suplex" in the third quarter kickoff coverage.
Tennessee ran a lot of screens and draws on third downs which gave Barwin little opportunity to make a contribution this week. I'm sure we'll see him show up in games where we manage to get a 14+ lead late.

Barwin was doing his job and getting his rush on forcing the QB to throw, the only problem is they kept throwing the screen and it took our D until the 4th qtr to figure out how to stop the screen.
I see the Jags trying to run it and Cushing meeting MJD for a BIG hit.

yes barwin played, he missed his outside containment on one of CJ's long runs...he went right by him and never noticed CJ going right by him and deep into our secondary

Ya, it was 3rd and 19 and Barwin tried to speed rush around the tackle, and the tackle led him on for a second bc it was a draw and then just put a hand on Barwin's back and shoved him 10 yards on up the field in the wrong direction. I realize no one was expecting a run but that is still one of Barwin's short comings: run defense. Hopefully as he becomes more accustomed to the position we can begin to use him more as an every down player. We may eventually wanna think about playing him more and more often at LB. I know I saw him standing up, moving around, and switching gaps before the snap some yesterday to mess with the offenses blocking assignments.

When the guys ahead of you are playing well it's hard to justify changing. In Casey's situation since the texans aren't exactly innovative on offense, he may be waiting awhile. A secret weapon doesn't do much good sitting on the bench, but a win is a win. Maybe next week. GO THOR!
Still waiting to see Casey on the field in a game. What gives? Let the guy have some play time, coach. This would be a nice chance for him to get some carries, etc.

I'd like to see some kind of wishbone formation with Casey, Leach, and Slaton back there. They could create a lot of different looks with that.. I also wouldn't mind seeing him line up on the outside, like Dallas uses Martellus Bennett.

ooooh that would be sweet... Unlimited play selection out of that with those 3 back there...

Hey, so what's the deal here....We just HAD to have Casey and Hill and they're both sitting on the bench or doing time on Special Teams...I'm assuming they are anyway. So I'm guessing our coaching staff thought these two were more important to the betterment of the team than say, drafting a couple of CBs or Safeties? Worst case senario we'd have a couple of CBs or Safeties doing time on Special Teams.
I thought the whole point of taking Casey was puttin him in the game with all his versatility and "game changing" abilities? What are we waiting for?

Why do you think I have such disdain towards his coaching abilities?

They will wait until the Texans season is beyond hope to put THOR in the offense. The Texans will then proceed to win 6 straight and we will hear wait until next year. after finishing 8 and 8. next year is too long to wait. Please play CASEY now.

If you followed Rice the last 2 years - you saw Casey score or get the first on 3rd and goal or 4th and short - even against Texas. I don't think he would've fumbled going in to tie the game.
Did anyone else see this work time after time?
GIVE IT TO THOR - HE WILL SCORE!!!

You do realize that we drafted 3 secondary players in the last draft? Quin, McCain and Nolan, with only Nolan the safety not on the team due to being put on IR. Hill was brought in for his blocking ability, but has problems keeping a hold of the ball after catch making him a liability if they have to check down. Casey, all around great athlete but he isn't as experienced as Daniels or probably as good at blocking as Dressen. Add in Leech being a great fullback, it doesn't open him with a lot of time to make plays.
Honestly, I think they might try using him instead of Chris Brown on short yardage runs or screen passes. Brown is averaging about 2 yards a carry and seems to get stuffed on more 3rd and 1 or 2 yard runs then the he succeeds.
