Do you think the new found fondness for Dreesen might be to try and trade him?
He looked good in the game, and is our LS and a ST wrecker so maybe the FO is trying to get him looking real nice in order to get some picks and then we can justify Casey playing more at TE.

I think Joel is the most underrated guy on the team. He makes plays when he gets a chance. With the injuries that go on in this league, I wouldn't want to trade any of our TE's mid season because they play too big of a role in the offense. I think we would be better off trading OD though because we would get a lot more in return for trading him, we would pay less for Joel and I truly believe the drop off in play would be minimal because of the way we use our TE's. But again, I wouldn't make this trade unless we were in the offseason and I would be asking for a first rounder plus another late round pick.

I don't think we can say that OD is a product of the system anymore. He makes catches and plays.

If any of those guys are traded, it would most likely be OD since it's doubtful the Texans will pay him what he wants. There aren't many trades in the NFL once the season starts and you certainly wouldn't trade someone unless you were sure you had a replacement ready. If next year is an uncapped year as expected OD is not going to get big bucks anyway since he won't be eligible for free agency. He is a good player and Schuab obviously trusts him to make the big catch so they should keep him as long as they can. You can't have too many good players.

wow this is like the third most ridiculous thread. I have read the last five minutes. get rid of our longsnapper and back up TE that made some good plays yesterday...what shall we get for him... and how will that mke us better.

It will get us a draft pick and we got a guy that can LS and make plays in Casey. How is it ridiculous? They've never really played Dreesen that much in the past, besides using him to block.

any trade for a back up TE is not going to bring value to our team but take away our LS. Dreesen's great blocking is an asset TE but his ability to catch means that teams have to respect him when he runs routes. He blocks catches and is our long snapper.(alot of value to us )
And stop stealing UTSA's motto "Still undefeated" was ours from years ago. That and "Come here park far" Utsa traditions.
also cometo wtch parties and sig my petition and call Chris and Jason.

lol @ utsa
Yall are about to have a team. I'm jealous.
Anyway, there are a lot of teams that are in need of a solid TE and that is exactly what they showcasing Dreesen to be. Clutch durable receiver who is a great special teams player.
Shanny could be using two TE set to create mismatches or they could be trying to show of Dreesen.
The Eagles need a TE, the Bills desperately want a TE and are dumb enough to trade for one.
If we could get a 3rd or a 4th how would that not benefit our team?
