Has anyone else noticed how maturely Grossman has been handling himself since signing with us back in the offseason? Even with him projected to be a third-stringer at the time, he came to work, stayed late, did what he was told.

I have to admit. I was a doubter about his work ethic, his attention to detail, his maturity, etc, but man, so far he has been an absolute delight, from what I have read, seen, heard, can tell, on the bench.

Even if Grossman never starts for the Texans, this move HAS to be considered of the greatest offseason acquisitions, and for such a minimal price point.

And heck, if the Texans can get into blowout games where our boys are ahead by 21-30 points, I think Kubes might put Grossman in for a series or two.

I dunno. I'm looking for thoughts and opinions. I'm kinda all over the place mentally at the moment.

And no, this is not a "replace Schaub" thread. I hate those. Schaub is our guy.

greatest offseason aquisitions?....wtf????????

This must be a joke. You said he is a delight?....wtf??????????

You gained all that from the last pre season game?

But i do agree about getting him on the cheap. (But there is also a reason why he was cheap)

One more note... we overpaid from Orvlosky!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, kinda what was he supposed to do? He signed with a team that has a for-sure starter in Schaub and I'm sure was told outright he was going to be a back-up. Probably happy he's getting a paycheck at this point.

I like the pick up of Grossman, I wanted us to get him when I heard he was out of Chicago. Experience. I guess some people would rather have Dan O. coming in off the bench. I would hate to see that, he's got a lot to learn about being a QB. Even though he started all of last season for The LIONS, yeah the 0-16 LIONS.

Grossman, has a pretty good arm but his decision making is what scares me. I really do think he is a great 2nd string qb behind Schuab, not Dan Orlovsky. I am still not a DAN-O believer.

To put it in perspective...Troy Aikman started for 1-15 Cowboys and wound up having a pretty good career so I don't know if that 0-16 record is a fair reflection of Dan-Os talents.

I think a lot of that success also had to do with Herschel Walker and the Vikings for making the Cowboys (Of The 90's). But yeah, I hear you. Just wonder if Troy would have been that successful without Smith and Irvin, Harper, Novacek and the O Line. The Cowboys should put Herschel Walker in the Ring Of Fame. I guess he's now cage fighting or something.

I think it just sheds some light on how important the players are that surround you when you're playing the QB position. I don't think Dan-O had much of a supporting cast in Detroit and i wonder how someone like Brady would fare in that same situation.

I don't think Dan-o started all 16 games for the Lions, I think he only started 8.

I dunno if that makes him sound better, I'll have to look up things.

In the games Dan-o started, if he gave the lions the most chance of winning, that makes him a little better in my eyes. Dan-o has the physical ability, just needs better mental, which kubiak can train.
