If March 2010 comes around and he's still not signed, should we trade a 1st Round pick for him? I have an opinion about this, and I thought it'd be fun to see what you all thought.

No, we dont need a T.O. in the locker room or on the field. This guy has prima donna written all over him and his crying for money will only get worse when its time to resign him. Its bad enough we have a cancerous D. Robinson with us now...no need to spread the cancer.

his hold out shows that he isnt a team player and the Texans would not bring that kind of player into the locker room. where has the logic gone in these posts?

Dudes full of himself. He needs to sign in line with when he was drafted. Don't need any prima-donna's on this team

He was a great college WR, though. Andre's not getting any younger and don't you think it'd be nice to have a young phenom here to learn under him?

......I'm just playing. I don't want him here either, and I'll give you two guys who missed time after being drafted that were great college players who turned out to be horrible pros...Maurice Clarett and Mike Williams. It's hard to knock all of that ability though.

I hope the Jets get convicted of tampering with him and get docked draft picks, just because I'm a fun-loving kinda guy.

I voted yes.

It would bring attention to the Texans (good and bad). Along with the media attention, Crabtree would bring a leathal weapon to use opposite of Andre Johnson that would be hard for any defense to cover, giving Slaton way more opportunity to get yards in his run game. It's an experiment, sure, but one I think would pay off. We are already loaded with WR's, but we are in NO position to pass up on potential superstars.

Yes, Crabtree may very well be a diva (or maybe not, give the man a chance) but just look at Ocho and TO, as many fans love them as hate them. If Crabtree could open up our offense and get us to the playoffs repeatedly, then it is worth the gamble.

The guy hasn't played a single NFL down and is full of sh@t. If NFL teams were smart, they'd forget about him, he's proven now to be a headache. See what he makes in the Arena League or Canadian League or the XFL. Oh yeah, the XFL only lasted one season. As I said in a previous post regarding him, I think he wanted the 49ers to change their name to the San Francisco Crabtrees as well as having the Madden creators take Fitzgerald and Polamalu off and have his likeness put on the cover. The guy is not, I repeat NOT A TEAM PLAYER. If he was, he'd have his a@@ in camp, etc. Like Singletary said about Vernon Davis the same can be said about Crabtree "Can't Coach 'Em". Vernon has made a huge turn around. He deserves to be an NFL player. To answer the question, HELL NO, I'd rather have Brandon Marshall. At least he reported to camp etc.

I know, thats why I said it. JJ would love to bring another Texas boy home plus its right up his alley as far as all the attention goes. Hes got to sell out that new stadium some how.

He already sold it out. They set a new NFL attendance record vs. the Giants Sunday night.

They said 105K tickets were distributed on SNF not sold, I am sure 10-15K were given away

Maybe it's Satan's time to collect & that's why Dallas lost and will lose again in their new home.

very true and not only that but now that they are done with the circus of opening it and trying to get as many people in there as possible they are talking about cutting way back on the SRO (standing room only) tickets. So from now on until the superbowl is hosted there there will be a huge drop in attendance numbers just from that perspective.

If people were smart they would just pay for a parking pass, go tailgating and sit outside from their tailgate party and watch the game on the huge screens outside...that way you dont have to pay for food or beer. You already have it!!

No they did not set the nfl attendance record at the new Tx Stadium.

Read this carefully.

They set a new Season / Playoff NFL Attendance Record.

However the alltime largest NFL Crowd was set in Mexico City which the Cowgirls were part of as well. That game was a preseason game and it was over 112,000 total.

I believe the Houston Oilers were the other team.

Would we have to give up a 1st rounder for him? I would be fine giving up a 2. I like the way the Texans do business, but there are two things I haven't seen us do.

1. Make a big move, like signing a top free-agent, or make a trade for a superstar. I'm not saying that Crabtree warrants this kind of status, but it would be a big move, and let people know that we are serious about getting it done.

2. Play in the post-season. Not saying one has to do with the other. But we have been struggling since our inception, and now that we look to be getting things on track, the addition of some top-caliber players won't hurt us. Whether that be Crabtree or, as some mentioned before, a solid corner to help out.

PS. I know we have made trades that were big, just not productive. Although I must say that Schaub is starting to prove his value.

With all that being said. We can do it with the team we have now. Go Texans!

B/c of his hold out he hasn't even played a down of pro football, let alone, even practiced.

I think he has a piss pour attitude but if we dont have to give up a 1st round pick.

and they are willing to take a 2nd rounder or less.....

THATS A STEAL. To much talent to not make that deal.

Andre Johnson is not going to be are #1 beast that he is forever.

So it would be benifical if we could get him for a 2nd round pick or less. Since Crabtree wants to get paid. We would have to pay him, thats the only down fall. But I think its worth the risk. He could learn from the best in the biz

here is my question to this...ur willing to give up a 2nd rounder for him but pay him top 7 pick money???? Tell me how this is beneficial financially and if he wants top 7 pick money now what exactly do you think he'll be asking for when we have to resign him in 4-5yrs (and to think he should barely be getting into his prime and used to nfl speed and defenses??)

LB can you give us a list of who all you want the Texans to get. Why don't we trade our entire defense for the AFC Pro Bowl defense that would be better right. We'd still keep Mario

Hmm very interesting I wonder how this thread got moved to the NFL section.

As I understand it, Crabtree was the 10th pick in the draft but wants top 5 money.
Tell me if I'm wrong, but as the 10th pick shouldn't he get more than the 9th pick but less than the 11th pick?
49ers need to stick to their guns on this and as each week goes by reduce their offer by 1/16. Let him go back in the draft next year. He'll never make up the money he lost. He's all about the money and stupid at that. If we were going to sign a contraversial player, I'd rather have a TO over someone like Crabtree on this team.

He wants more than DHB got in the seven slot, but since Cincy is so cheap he wants more than Andre Smith got too. Sanchez was 5 and QB's get more anyway. But they offered him .01 cent less than Raji got at 9, that was fair, he should have taken 3-4 weeks ago. But the Raiders screwed everything up by overpaying DHB (and he sucks) they should have just picked Crabtree but then we might not have Cushing if they did.

Ah, ok my dad was from Buhl, by Twin Falls Idaho...

I loved it up there, got as cold as a witch's *** at night though....

I remember Houston gets cold too! I've lived in Germany, Colorado & Idaho. I still think it gets just as cold in Houston as it does in those places. It's a WET COLD, here it's dry. Makes a big difference as does the humidity there in Big "H".

Absolutely no way. We don't need someone like that in the locker room. Also, March is quite a long time to wait. It's not even worth it. We need to try to make the Playoffs this year, and he isn't going to help us with that. I say let the 49'ers force him back into the draft, if he doesn't get signed, and let him get picked in the second or third round and get even less money than he is rejecting right now.
