Sadly we have seen the last of Pitts in a Texans uniform. He is in the last season of his deal and teams usually don't go too hard after injured players looking for their 3rd deals. I hope I am wrong because he has always been such a class act. Get well soon Chester.

Anytime a player is put on IR it ends his season.

Man I hated seeing Chester's knee get bent like that on that play. He will always be a Texan as far as I'm concerned. I hope his body heals well and he works hard to make a comeback.

I was very sorry to see that Chester is out for the season. He's been solid for so many years, one of the few bright spots on the team. It's a shame this had to happen during his contract year. This is going to cost him a lot of money, and is going to create more anxiety for players like Ryans, Owens, Walters, etc. who are also in their contract years. I hope all three of those guys can be signed to long-term deals, as long as the terms are reasonable for players of their stature.

It didn't look that bad on the field. But this is not good for us. I guess we were lucky to have everyone healthy last year. I was hoping he would be able to come back. I guess it was worse than it looked.

This probably say alot about the confidence they have in Studdard. I was hoping we'd see Pitts back in a few weeks though. Wondering what the prognosis is?

I sure hope that Studdard can step his game up... It was nice going without a sack against the t itts.

He had microfracture surgery so he would barely be ready for training camp next year

well, if for some reason he isn't a Texan next season (although that'd feel strange) I hope he ends up with Salaam again. I wish him well in his recovery.

Age catches up with everyone and this looks like the end of the road for Chester here in Houston. Thanks for all of the hard work and dedication Chester! Hope to see you back, but if not Godspeed.

Bummer......but oh well, he is still making big money and we aint going to the superbowl anyway. I think we can still make thg playoffs though. Next years draft:
Round 1: Nasty, big fat DT
Round 2: Safety or Guard/Center
Round 3: Safety or Guard/Center
Round 4: Safety or Guard/Center
and then the rest who cares
We can still win 10 games with the guys we have assuming the defense gets better (which I think they will). Interior O-lineman are a lot easier to find then tackles

Pitt did as good as could have been expected. He was drafted to be a guard and had to play tackle for those real bad offensive line teams of the past. He did his best. He's been a big constant.
But, situations dictate the Studdard era begins now. I don't think Studdard will be giving up his spot anytime soon, if he plays like he can.

I just had to apologize for my earlier post. It was selfish of me... Chester and his family will be in my prayers. He has been a true warrior for our Texans.
I sure hope that Studdard can step his game up... It was nice going without a sack against the t itts.

Absolutely sucks for Chester. You know the Texans probably would have offered him another contract if the preseason and the current injury weren't factors. The man has been great for the team and Studdard has big shoes to fill.
I hope we can still maintain Pitts even if it is just as a backup, although knowing this league and the players, he is likely to go somewhere he could start. Still, I hope the Texans make the offer, the guy is a great player and overall excellent individual to have around.

Good Luck Chester....If anyone should be given a chance to come back from injury it should be him. Not sure how long recovery will be though.......Might be career ending for him....always thought of him as Mr. Reliable.... Hope he can make it back though.....

I was saddened to hear that he was out for the season. I think he is the last original Texan. Could be wrong. Anyway its sad seeing him on the sideline.
I hope he gets better for next year, wherever that may be.

Why is it every guard in a contract year gets a season ending knee injury. See Fred Weary 2007...
I personally think Chester gave continuity to the team and was a very good player. My heart goes out to him and his family. If anyone deserves a chance to come back it is him and I am hoping he gets the chance and comes back as good as ever. Good luck Chester.
