I knew the Chargers let go of Gartrell Johnson, but the Giants sure snatched him up real quick. I remember during the draft me and BMT checking for this guy with all the short yardage and Red Zone punch talk. We wondered if he can be our Brandon Jacobs or Steven Jackson. Now I want to keep watch to see if the Giants have 2 rhino's on their team, and did we once again make a mistake because we are too in love and scared to let go of "the hurt guy".

We didnt take any RB because Rick and Gary felt confident in Chris Brown.

Yep I know HSF. "We feel pretty good about what we have in Chris Brown". Like I said... the hurt guy. I'll be repeating myself, but same as "we feel good about what we have in D.D.", then spent the year rotating 4 RB's looking for a starter. On to the greatness we find in FA, but not just released great vets, or 2 stringers that want the opp to start elsewhere. the journeymen and 2-3yr inactives. Let's see what they do before deadlines this year to fill in gaps.

Ok now wait. Somebody help me out on this one. We wanted a "Lyndell White" type back for short yardage and Red Zone... We trade Travis Johnson to the Chargers, the Chargers release Gartrell Johnson, and the Giants snatch him up. So umm... what did we get from the Chargers for Travis Johnson???

Anyone know?

A conditional 5th or 6th round pick. I'm not sure how that is determined but if it is or was on how much TJ plays, well I heard he was hurt, so it may be a 6th. Maybe it is a 5th. It's one of the two.

Actually, the guy they wanted in the third round was gone, so they decided to stick it out with Brown and Foster being their big backs going into the season. At this point, Brown has not really done anything to lose the job, although I wouldn't be surprised after the fumble, if we see Ryan Moats on the field at RB next game at least for one drive or so if they want to give Slaton a break and it isn't a goal line or 3rd or 4th and 1 stand.
