If Okoye pans out and becomes a consistent 55 tackle and 4.5 sack; do you think it was the right pick over Willis? What's harder to find an Elite DT or an Elite LB? In their 3rd year, Willis is a top 3 LB in the league. Okoye still has lots of doubters.

I was looking at Okoye and he is starting to put numbers at the top of the DT's. He still isn't getting the right push, but he's looking more and more comfortable.

Right now he's got 17 tackles and 1.5 sacks. Mario's got 18 tackles and 2 sacks. He's looking good out there.

I think he is coming into his own, he is just now the age of most rookies and he has 2+ years of NFL exp under his belt. I think he will be serving crow to a lot of people here this year and many to come.

If or when he gets help beside him he will explode as well as the rest of the line... call it wishful thinking but if we get a real deal nose tackle we could see mario antoio connor and okoye constantly getting to the quarterback. We are set at d line just one missing piece and that is NT'

Also draft is about speculation and potential... and if you ask me the 2007 draft I was excited as hell when we chose okoye, 19 yrs old, 3 tech that could get to the quarterback. you cant blame them for choosing okoye. in a few years say idk clay matthews becomes a star olb and we chose cushing and say he isnt as good. was that a mistake too? sometimes people make wrong decisions but its not easy predicting the future for your team.

Patrick Willis can go on to be the greatest LB ever with many pro-bowls and go to the hall of fame and Okoye can be an alright NT and it's still the right decision. We have a MLB and a very good one at that. We needed a NT. You really can't just draft the best player available and make a good team. Imagine if the Colts would have had a horrific season this year and got the first overall pick and took Sam Bradford because he was the best player available. You have to weigh talent vs. need and in that draft the choice between the two was easy for the Houston Texans. Plus Patrick Willis will get more money than any defensive player ever when his contract is up and we would have to pay him and Demeco, that would be bad.

Yes it was the right decision. TJ at the time was drafted for the 3-4 and was only just becoming serviceable in he DT role, the team needed talent in the interior of their defense. Needs out weigh potential and drafts are gambles anyway.

Look at many of QBs drafted in the first round, Brady Quin, JaMarcus Russell, Leinhart and Young. Those dudes are not even playing (or in Russell's case probably shouldn't be) right now, don't you think some of those teams wish they could have their pick back.

I'll take Amobi. I'm still steamed over passing on Derrick Johnson for Travis Johnson. We traded him off for what a 5th round pick?
