I think I'd rather give caldwell his shot and sign the big NT that the colts just let go...he is of the size and caliber we need to stop the run and is already well aware of the comp that we play since he played in the same division....but thats just my $.02

I dunno Johnson has mental issues, could be a victim of the personal conduct policy and suspended eventually
I dunno if I wanna run behind a guard named Tutan.. :D
I agree caldwell deserves a shot, if not at RG atleast at center

Former Raider & Lion in the same sentence. Don't you just love the acquisitions we make year to year after the draft? Yeah uh... let's see how this pans out, and what we do before trade deadlines. Gotta love it.

Tutan is just being signed to proved depth, he won't get a shot to start unless something happens to Caldwell or White.
I'm surprised, they didn't go for Adrian Jones since he was here during preseason and training camp. But then again, I vaguely remember one lineman kept getting false starts or something in the preseason as well, maybe it was him.
As for Bing, they are just looking for another special teams body, it doesn't matter that much since whoever they signed would be behind Bentley and Adibi in the depth chart.

USC head coach Pete Carroll:
"He's such a natural athlete. He's able to come up with the right decision and how to make his plays when the time comes. That's what allowed him to look so good so early and make a spot for himself...In practice, there have been a lot of balls that are tipped around and deflected, and he comes up with them. He has great hands. He's extremely quick and strong, so when he gets in there, he can fight his way to the football...He's got a golden horseshoe in his back pocket. Sometimes there are safeties who are like that."
He played Strong Safety at USC & was only moved to Linebacker when the Raiders drafted him, 4th Round (101st pick) in '06.... But has been kinda journeyman since... hmmmmm

Texans sign Tutan Reyes and Darnell Bing.
two useless signings because kubiak will never play them. It is like where is caldwell if we signed him?

Texans sign Tutan Reyes and Darnell Bing.
Tutan Reyes is a former Panther who has a lot of NFL experience. Hopefully he isn't to far out of shape and can come in to spell the starters.

I would have rather have seen them sign Ed Johnson, i know they need O linemen but we could have held off the signing and still been fine. Also Trevor Canfield was still available which would have been a better choice. Clinton Hart the SS from Chargers just got released we should have taken a look there also. in order NT Johnson, Canfield, Hart, would be my order of FA aquisitions

Going into a game with two fairly inexperience offensive guards, a center that has been shakey a lot this season and only one back up for all three interior positions is risky. What if either Myers, Studdard or Caldwell got hurt in practice and then during the game another one went down critically? Our only possible options at guard for the rest of that game might be putting a TE or DT at one of the guard positions.

we all understand that with the injuries we need depth to fill in just in case something else happens to one of our linemen...but the point trying to be made is that there are chances to improve this team with FA aquisitions and we keep letting them pass by.

Too bad we didn't address our needs before the season started. I can't ***** too much though. At least we are trying something.
Problem is that White (who will start this week) is only 290# and Tutan is only 305#. We still don't have the mass up front to make 1 yard when it counts. So don't get your hopes up on short yardage this year.

Everyone watching a Texans game last year knew that interior O-line, Brisiel and Myers, were a weakness for this team. Except Kubiak. Why wasn't this fixed in FA, the draft, or in preseason?

FA, the draft, and preseason is where problems on the team are supposed to be fixed when their are quality players available to fill holes on the team. Why does Kubiak wait til the season starts to fix holes on the team when the only players left out there are other teams scraps that were cut.

What did you expect them to do? They signed what was available to add depth at a spot were we all of a sudden became thin.
I guess they could've went like that Eagles movie and invited you in.
