I put this thread in the Bull Pen since he was close to signing with the Texans over the offseason.

Simple question really. Do you think that Cedric Benson would be having as good a season as he is having if he would have signed with the Texans instead of the Bengals?

He just is that good. He was always good and he found the right team that is using his ability to the fullest. If he had became a Texan Kubiak would have been all over Slatons nuts and not give Cedric a try. Lol kubes would have tried to make him a power back.

(Insert Hall of Fame running back here) Couldn't run behind this horrendous run blocking.

No I dont think so. I am, however, glad to see things are going well in Cincy after being let go by the Bears and after his off the field stuff.

i dont know... Barry Sanders was sorta like the King of the broken play.. he could turn nothing into something really quick...

problem is.. he has 3 negastive carries for every positive one... granted the positive ones would go for 80 yards... it's a toss up.. I think Barry could succeed with a crap O line.

Barry did and with no help from anyone on that team.

Earl Campbell, Eric Dickerson, OJ Simpson couldn't .....the only guy that I can think of right now that could is Barry Sanders.

I have to agree. I think Benson is good in the right system. But, that system would not have been the Texans one. Benson would have been doing what Chris Brown is doing now, the power back position.

I'm glad he is doing well! But, hopefully not this Sunday

people really need to stop making excuses for Kubiak stubborness and refusal to pick up a better back. In his mind he can turn crap RB into GOLD. The normal logic is when you have a crappy O-LINE go pick up and good to great back to balance it out. You do not try to mold a mediocre back into an ALL-STAR with a crappy O-line. The result is what we have now. NO RUNNING GAME!

Only time he showed any speed was when running from cops

One thing I noticed about Cedric watching the Bengals/Ravens game on Sunday was that he looks quicker, particularly in the open field, something that seemed to be lacking in Chicago. He also seems to be taking contact better and moving forward rather than just treading water, so to speak, in the pile.

Barry Sanders could!! This O-Line is not as bad as the one he had in Detroit.

Can we get some DNA and genetically create a new Barry Sanders before next season?
