These are the games whose results might affect the Texans wild card chances, and who we should be rooting for in those games (in bold).

Baltimore @ Cincinnati - Let's root for the Ravens to win the division, we have the tiebreaker against the Bengals.

Miami @ New England - New England should win the division, so let's root for them to lower Miami's already slim playoff chances.

Kansas City @ Jacksonville - I don't know if the Jaguars can turn around their season in time to qualify, but it's always fun to see them lose anyways.

Houston @ Indianapolis - Well, duh. Read why I think this game is the most important Texans game ever here (http://boards.houstontexans.com/showthread.php?t=14676).

Tennessee @ San Francisco - Tennessee has almost a zero percent chance of making the playoffs, but it's always fun to see them lose too.

San Diego @ New York G - The Chargers have yet to beat a team with a winning record, so a loss here would further push them down the wild card standings.

Pittsburgh @ Denver - If we're rooting for Denver and Baltimore to win their respective divisions, then that means we are rooting against every other team in those divisions.

I would rather see the Tacks edge out the 49ers since they are so far behind right now. Although, the 49ers might get in VY's head and get him freaked out going into our Monday ngiht game. I want VY to look stupid in front of the VY Homers that will be in Reliant trying to cheer him on.

WOW! Dont we all LOVE Vince Young down here in Texas? and don't forget what he did in his Houston Homecoming a few years ago. That was CLASSIC VINCE! but still left a bad taste in my mouth:(

So many teams to root for and not root for....this is going to get confusing:confused:

Looking at thier remaining games, it looks like the Steelers will win that division and the bungles will snag one of the wild-cards.Theres a LOT of games left its hard to tell really.

Maybe root against the ravens since they are already behind the Texans.

Just cheer for the teams winning their divison... other than the Colts. If they are the top of their divison they are not in the wildcard race. We want the least number of teams fighting for the wildcard with us.

However, if we move into the lead in our division we just need to hold on to that.

If the Titans win the next one then those VY homers will have to pay dearly to get a ticket to that MNF game.

I am rooting for Baltimore to win this week then rooting against them, Pittsburgh will still win this division, lets hope the Colts knoch of the Ravens in Indy this month, there are still two WC threats in the AFC North, since we don't have the first tie breaker with Baltimore they are more Dangerous than the Bengals

What if we beat Indy? You still want them to beat the Ravens?

I agree... I think Steelers take the division or at least have the best chance to win or have a better record by the end of the season... Without a doubt it's gonna be a dog fight in the AFC North... I can easily see the Bengals and Ravens going 10-6... hell I can also see the Jets going 10-6... So its gonna be a tight race that I think will come down to the last game of the season...

I would prefer to be talking about winning the division but since this isn't the topic I won't hijack...

Realistically the Colts are going to be 12-4/11-5 at the worst even if we beat them twice I guess the best we could realistically be is 11-5 so there is still a mathmatical chance, now if SF would have won yesterday and if Miami would have held on week 2 I may still be thinking division, but I am focused on the WC and Indy still has to play Baltimore and that win only helps us there. I am just trying to hand 7 losses on Cincy, Baltimore Miami SD and the Jets

AB you know I am a die hard fan but I am not too proud to accept a WC game this year.

I second that... we need to root for 7 losses or more for each of those teams regardless...

Would I get slapped if I said I am content with us just having a winning season and playoffs would just be icing on the cake? :p

I was going to argue against this since I feel like Cincy is a much weaker team than the Ravens (especially when they start fighting for their lives), so I'd rather see the Ravens as far back as possible... but looking at their schedules for the rest of the season, Cincy has a much easier road ahead - so you've convinced me.

I really don't like what's going on in that division though. All three of those teams are doing great this year, and all three are thinking playoffs. The second wildcard spot is ours to lose right now, but I've got a feeling we don't have much room for error. I'm thinking we might need to start padding our strength of victory just in case that last spot comes down to the fifth tiebreaker ::cool:
