Has there been any discussion of the quality of the pocket Schaub has been throwing from? More times than not, he's had a pocket to throw from, but in your opinion.. was that a good pocket.. a poor pocket?

Do you find yourself getting upset because he can't step up in the pocket? or Have you been impressed with his ability to step up?

Do you think Brown is holding his own, and keeping sufficient space on Matt's left side?

Do you think Schuab has sufficient time to get through his progression?

Do you think it breaks down to often? To quick? Rarely if ever?

Is it even an area of concern for the Texans?

The line has been amazing all season giving Schaub time to pass. The only issues are when nobody is open and he holds the ball too long.

I am not concerned about pass protection, but we will face a serious front 4 this week that will put our line to the test.

Agreed. The pocket is holding up well enough to get a pass out more often then not. Problem as you state, is when there is not an open reciever, Schaub often hesitates and holds on too long and ends up going down. I would like to see Schaub become quicker to scramble and/or toss the football to the sidelines.

I agree with you on this one... I just wish he was faster on the run.. at times it looks like he could get some yardage on the run.. but he looks really slow... but please throw it away if there is no pass avail....indy will hurt us if he does not think things thru!:D

Problem with that is, is usually the interior of the pocket has begun to collaspe at this time and he has no where to go. If he tosses it out of bounds it will most likely be int grounding. I'd much rather see him take the sack then try to force it and get a TO.

As far as the pocket, the O-line has done outstanding in protection. Most of the sacks are on Schaub and anybody watching knows it. Like I said, don't think Schaub is hesitating, I think he is just waiting for something to open up and if he can wait that long and make a completion, then that speaks volumes about the pocket protection...

So in your opinion, do the coaches need to do a better job designing plays where our WRs open up about the same time Matt gets to the bottom of his drop?

Or do the recievers need to get better at running their routes?

I would consider good coverage to be a mark of good defense rather than a bad game plan on the O. The only way coverage is a fault of the offense is if Schaub is not seeing the field when players are open. Schaub sems to be following his progressions very well this season and he just used OD as a go to player because he was early in the progression with everyone doubling up to staop AJ.

The pass protection has been good enough, definatly not on the top of the list of problems to fix. Run blocking has been worse than pass.

I think in preping for a team like Indy "throw it away" needs to be in the progression.

Primary
Secondary
third
open running lane? no
dump it.

Since Schaub hasn't made much yardage on the scramble I think this might help him get rid of the ball faster.

Umm, isn't this the progression of every QB since Sammy Baugh? Yep, I think we should do that too.

If we throw the ball our passing game will have a chance to succeed!
