Uh oh... two rook CBs against HOU?
WR Target Leaders
* Two of the three tied for first will be playing in the Houston-Indy matchup.
* Steve Smith, NYG: 77
* Andre Johnson, HOU: 77
* Reggie Wayne, IND: 77
* Larry Fitzgerald, ARI: 72
* Randy Moss, NE: 67 Source: ESPN Stats and Information
With Marlin Jackson and Kelvin Hayden still not certainties for Sunday's matchup against the Houston Texans, the Indianapolis Colts might be starting two rookies at cornerback against the NFL's No. 3 passing offense, according to the Indianapolis Star.
Hayden was knocked out of the Colts' win on Sunday with a knee injury, and he also suffered a concussion in the game. Jackson has not played since Week 4.
Without their two vets, the Colts would throw Jerraud Powers and Jacob Lacey out against Andre Johnson, Kevin Walter and crew. If that's the case, expect even more of an emphasis to be spent on getting pressure on Matt Schaub
(My friend sent me this via email, sounds pretty good to me.)

Yeah I posted this in another thread, they could be missing a LB, and still be without Gonzalez and Donnald Brown
Injuries will have a big impact on this game we are out a probowl TE and a back up TE
Indy could be without their starting CB's, key RB and solid LB (Hayden should be out, Jackson may not be back yet, Haiger and Donald brown are still iffy, and Anthony Gonzalez may play he may not but he has been out 7 weeks or something and hasn't practiced yet.
ROTOWORLD
Kelvin Hayden's status for Sunday's game against the Texans is uncertain after he suffered a knee injury and a concussion in the Week 8 win over the 49ers.
Hayden left that game in the third quarter and didn't return. It's a bad time for the Colts' secondary to be banged up with Houston's potent passing attack on tap, but Marlin Jackson (knee) has a chance to return this week after missing the last two games. If he can't, the Colts could be forced to start two rookies in Jerraud Powers and Jacob Lacey Sunday.
According to FOXSports' Alex Marvez, Anthony Gonzalez (knee) is due back "later this month."
There are 26 days left in November, so this doesn't give us a timetable. Gonzalez has been out since Week 1. He seems unlikely to play this week.

I think the injuries balance both teams out a bit. If they were fully healthy and we were missing Casey and OD... we would definatly be short handed.
Heres to an injury free game, WE BOTH NEED IT!

Yeah, I would not be surprised to see more screens this week due to the extra pressure they would want to bring to help the rookies.

Colts coach Jim Caldwell revealed Wednesday that Anthony Gonzalez is getting a second opinion on his lingering knee injury.
Beat writer Phil B. Wilson calls it "not a good sign" and doesn't expect Gonzalez to return "anytime soon." The second opinion will presumably come from Dr. James Andrews, and is being pursued to find out whether Gonzalez needs surgery on his sprained torn PCL. Strongly consider dropping Gonzalez if there are potential impact players on your waiver wire.

Tyjuan Hagler-LB- Colts Nov. 4 - 2:00 pm et
Colts placed SLB Tyjuan Hagler on injured reserve with a torn biceps muscle, ending his season.
Philip Wheeler and Ramon Humber are next on the depth chart, but Wheeler figures to get the nod because of his blitzing abilities. Hagler, a free agent in the offseason, sees his season end with just 26 tackles in seven games.
Looks like these two are out for sure, still waiting on the two CB's and Donald Brown

...and it's been for good reason. However, I'm so glad they finally showed the "C" word..CONSISTENCY. Buffalo had the worst run defense in the league and we were able to really take advantage of that.
Indy is the best team in football, in my opinion, and I think the Texans can win Sunday if Moats can have a Buffalo-esque performance. Jacob Lacey will, by no means, stop Andre Johnson, but he is as solid as you can ask from a rookie UDFA CB. I've been MIA from the boards lately (busy), but what did the team managers put in the water bottles in Houston? The defense turned the switch to ON a few weeks ago. They look impressive now.

We got all our starters back from injury in our secondary and removed the players that were blowing assignments. Bush appears to have the eye for taking issues and finding fixes. (Ex: Adding Pollard to the roster)

Appreciate the credit...
Is anybody else getting really excited about this game? I'm finding it hard to focus this week. When is the last time we had a meaningful weekend 9 games deep into a season?

Keep an eye on the Rockets, they help time pass a bit faster and they are playing some very fun team ball right now! I have been filling up my evenings so that the time goes by faster.

hmmm ! I would expect to see lots of 4 wide receiver sets from the Texans and probably several empty backfield sets.:D

This seems like an injury update thread so here are my $.02 to it.

After months of rehabbing a knee injury, Colts safety Bob Sanders finally returned to action on Sunday, against the 49ers.
And now, as the Colts prepare for an AFC South showdown with the Houston Texans, Sanders is hurt.
Again.
This time, he's got an elbow injury. He missed practice because of it on Wednesday.
Also missing practice Wednesday for the Colts were defensive end Dwight Freeney (rest), receiver Anthony Gonzalez (knee), cornerback Kelvin Hayden (knee), cornerback Marlin Jackson (knee), and kicker Adam Vinatieri (knee).

I hope not...I say we max protect Schaub and give our tackles some help with freeney and mathis. I'd also like to see both slaton and moats in the backfield at the same time. Remember we are out OD and J.Casey...so that takes away one of our often used weapons in OD from the passing game. With 2 rookie CB's back there for them I say we make sure Schaub has the time to let our WR's get open on the rookies and take them to school.

The people on the Colts board seem to think this is just a day of rest for Sanders, he is a brittle guy one game and hurt already, can we call him Bob Green or Ahman Sanders!!!!!

Just like Bob Sanders says in his play 60 commercial:
<screaming at kids, while clapping his hands>"THAT'S CONSISTENCY!!!"

Jerraud Powers had been the 3rd best cover corner in the NFL this year according to the statistics. Not just rookies, he's giving up less than everyone except Corey Webster and Sheldon Brown.
208 plays in coverage, Thrown at 25 times, and allowed 12 receptions for 76 yards, 6.3 Yards per reception, 3.0 yards per attempt, and 48% completion percentage against.
Lacey is pretty terrible though. I have him rated 70th.

Yeah its a bummer without OD and JC but Joel Dreessen can pickup some of the slack and ENTER....Jacoby Jones and Andre Davis.

It sucks OD is down and James Casey will not be able to play but hopefully Jacoby and Joel can step it up a lot. They might have rookie CBs but they still have Bobby Sanders and Bethea back there.
