Should we actually lose our upcoming game against the Colts I could see this forum be FLOODED with "FIRE ____" threads, etc once again. But this time it could be much worse being that we have built this team to strictly beat the Colts, and everyone has their hopes up. I for one have my hopes up very high and would love to see what a win in this game would do for our team, its entire organization, the media regonition we would start to get, and the happiness it would bring to every Texans fan out there.
I just want everyone to take recognition of all the good points everyone is making about this team as of right now, and not completely do a 180 if we lose. This team deserves our recognition and deserves us backing them every chance we get.
Anyone else see this potentially coming? Thoughts?
Here is to a well faught, well earned win against the Colts on Sunday! GO TEXANS!!!!
I think you are right. I support the team win or lose. I think we have a good chance, but either way I think it will be a hard fought game.
I am happy with this team and the coaches. I have never advocated firing them. I think next year we will be a real force to be reconed with and we are no pushover this year.
GGGGGGGGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I agree 100% with you. That's how a lot of "fans" here are. They expect 20 win seasons every year with utter domination every down, every quarter. It's hard for them to realize that it is a 16 game season and every person on the field has pride and is getting paid. With that being said, I'd love to take this game, and I think we will. I'm not saying we will sweep the Colts but I just have a feeling we will win this game. Dreesen has good hands, he may not be the athlete OD is but he at least can catch the ball if it is thrown his way. I'd like to see Martinez suit up for this one also and toss him in the lineup. If we can limit the TO's we will have this game in the bag. I like our D against Indy. This is a Texans team that Indy has yet to see. Texans 24 Indy 20

We've done nothing but get better since Kubiak came here. The "Fire Kubes" threads are obviously by stupid, unlearned arm-chair quarterbacks.
As for this weekend and beyond, I believe at best we sweep the Colts and at worst we split with them.

Progress under Capers was: 4 consecutive years SUB .500, MINIMUM TALENT
ADDED
Progress under Kubes is : 1 season sub .500, TALENT OUT THAT WAZOO
2 consecutive seasons AT .500
26 draft picks, only 5 no longer with the team.
I'm cool with coach Kubes.

I think the fans have been fairly fair.. it's usually the way we lose that upset us more than the actual loss itself.
Our team has looked completely unprepared, and unable to adjust.. (eg the Jets game)
aggressive..... first half of Raiders game. Conservative 1st half Arizona, second half Oakland, San Francisco
F@#ing awesome .........Cincinnatti
poised & ready vs Buffalo
Totally inept... at the 1 yard line vs Jacksonville.
Surely you can see reason for frustration in all of that.

Well this will be our first real test against a quality team. The closed we've come to facing a higher level of compitition this year has been against the Cards and that didn't turn out too well for us. If we get beat by the Colts, to me it's going to show as long as we face the lower echelon teams we'll do OK. Put us up against the better teams and we're out-matched. Not good.
Hopefully we win and this'll be a moot subject.

The Bengals are better than the Cards, and we smoked them in
their own house. I know our run defense isn't a fluke 'cause Benson
got 40-some-odd yards against us, then went off for 150 against the
Bears. That's the Texans team I'm taking into Indy.

Then we went to Buffalo & gave up 97.
But you're right, we beat the Bengals.. & the Bengals are a good team. Laverneous Coles played well. OchoCinco broke off 100 yards... but they missed more passes than we broke-up.... won't happen against the colts.

They miss passes 'cause our D-line has finally started disrupting the
backfield. We have A LOT of near-sacks, but the rush still arrives
BEFORE the quarterback is ready to throw it. Most short routes
are timing plays. If the QB throws it before they're supposed to,
or if the receiver breaks his route before he's supposed to, it will
be easier to break up. Watch our D-line. Smith, Amobi, and Cody have
been helping Mario better than ANY group he's ever had.
Not to mention the occasional blitz by Cushing and Demeco.

FIRE KUBIAK! WE SUCK WORST TEAM EVER! BRING CAPERS BACK!
You *know* it's coming if we lose.
Which, is unfortunate, considering if we lose, we still will more than likely end up 10-6 and in the WC.
The Texans are 10-4 (5-2 on the road), since the last time they've lost
back-to-back games (This was, ironically, the last time they lost to Indy.)
Kubiak is BY FAR the best coach this franchise has ever had, but it's taking
so many people a long time to shake off the shell shock incurred during the
Capers era. Let it go. Ya'll are like little David Carrs. Always in the fetal
position, instead of sacking up and moving forward.

I agree with ya Shoguns, the Colts are not 7-0 for no reason.
The reason they are 7-0 is that they are a good team with the best QB in the game. But its time for them to hit the wall. We have to get some hits on Manning....Peyton hates to be hit.

All of the Fire them posts came after games that we expected to win easily but failed to do so. Everyone either underestimted the Jets or we were really that bad then and we all expected to beat the jags. The board expected that we would win but we didn't not because of any one play but a general lack of intensity.
I and many other realistic fans are expecting a split with Indy since the games come really close together I can withould by outbursts for a few weeks. If we lose to a better team the coaches have nothing to fear and the fans really have nothing to complain about. But if we don't play up to our level and don't make adjustments then people are going to be yelling maybe its fair, maybe not; but it is the way it is.

anybody remember this thread? seems a lot of yall either missed it or conveniently changed your minds. sad when you have to serve crow to some of your fellow texans "fans".
everyone is disappointed but this sky is falling c r a p after eevveerryy ssiinnggllee lloossss is getting pathetic. we BARELY lost this game. even after a rediculous start and unacceptable amount of penalties. you guys need to remember we face this team again in 3 weeks. sack up, stop crying, and learn to support your team even if it was a loss.....a hard earned loss, by only 3 points in the final second, against a 7-0 team, with arguably the best quarterback in the league. i for one am still gonna hold my head up high. go texans!
Even an as s ho l e like myself admits you guys are good. I'm happy to come out with a win. But texans fans should NOT hang their heads at all. You guys have arrived.

They won't listen to you, our fanbase has never learned how to handle a loss at any level. The crybabies are used to hating this team because of our past and so they revet back to that any time they are upset by something they did not like.
Then they say things like, "this team does not have a winning mentality." In reality it is more that a huge portion of the fans do not have a winning mentality and cannot understand how a team could possible get to the playoffs if they loss a few games.
Hopefully at the end of this season the fans will realize that we can lose game sand it doesn't mean the season is over.
